I am a member of the www.sr20deforum.com and the www.se-r.net. My car was the cover car of the May 2002 Nissan Performance Magazine. I will come by in our 97Max SE. Is this open to all Nissans? Cause our meet in July will be.
We will be meeting @ Jacob Riis Park in Rockaway Queens @ 10:30am on July 27th, 2002. There is also a little private parking area that we can use but I'm not sure if there is a fee for that parking area or if we would want to use it (I think it can only hold about 10-15 cars). There is a fee for the main parking area which comes up to $3.25. Parking lot is HUGE so that's good plus for a major turn out.
I was trying to get the BBQ area reserved, but they told me it's a first come first serve deal on the grills. I also recomend that people bring there own grills just in case. The beach and board walk is right there and there are also basketball courts (for those of you that want to get your asses bust), a golf course, a public pool, softball, baseball, football, rugby, paddleball and handball ect. Great scenic area with many places for photo.
Directions from Brooklyn:
From the Belt Parkway: take Exit 11S (Flatbush Avenue SB - Rockaways) to the Marine Park bridge. Pay $1.75 toll. Follow the sign that say Jacob Riis Park.
EDIT 6/26/02: Thanks to Domiguy for the following directions:
From Long Island:
Take the Southern State Parkway straight into the Belt Parkway West.
Or take the Northern State Parkway to the Cross Island Parkway south to the Belt Parkway West.
Or take the L.I.E. to the Cross Island Parkway south to the Belt Parkway West
from NJ:
Take the Goethals bridge to the Staten Island Expressway Then to the Verazzano Bridge, and take the Belt Parkway exit, and follow the directions above from Brooklyn.
You can also take the Outerbridge Crossing (or Bayonne Bridge) and take the 440 to 278 East (Staten Island Expressway).
And For those of you that don't have ya cars ready you can still come! Just take the Q35 Green lines bus from Nostrand and Flatbush Avenues to Riis Park/Rockaway Beach.
