what a bad night. a gt-s owned me from 60-130 by like 6+ car lengths.i'm an auto with intake only. then my cel came on.


ps i have my stock 15s on not the 20s

 

well the 6spd GTS isn't exactly "slow" compared to a basically stock auto Max....

 

yeah he had at least intake and exhaust

 

...and he DIDN'T have those heavy 20s!

 

We all have crumby gear ratios. At least the Maxima has some pretty good low end power. I drove my friend's GTS and we came to the conclusion that the motor is pretty darn sweet, but the 6-speed sucks. The gear ratios are all wrong for 1/4 miles. Most of the power is made up top, but then you have to shift and when you shift, you're out of the sweet spot. This is why, he thinks, his brother's Integra Type R kills him every time.

 

they still do 15.3-15.5....all top-end and no low end..

don't worry, I got my shiet handed to me by a gts 70mph and up on a straight ahead

FYI: Even an 2K1 M3 didn't pull on me as bad as the GTS did.

I never ran against a Celica GTS before, I wonder how I would do.


Did you the person in the GTS? I want race somebody, anybody!


A Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am did try to get me to race though. It wasn't the newest model, seem just a bit older. It had dual exhaust, the tips were rectangular shape. Problem was the guy waved me to race him in a pretty bad part of New Orleans. 1)I didn't want to get car jacked and 2)the street was filled with pot holes. That dude must be crazy to want to race there.

 

nah i didnt know him but we raced from metairie all the way to new orleans east.. at some points i'd pull on him and others he'd pull on me.. when when we finally had a long stretch he got me.. i didnt realize my CEL light was on until it was all over.. damn knock sensor.

 

if you were in the NE i'd give you a run against a stock 2k1 GTS

 

I just can't get people to race me down here. It's not like my car is that fast. Only people that always want to race me are the V8 guys.

4500 that motor just opens up and says ahhhhhhhhhh , no guts down low and all nuts on top. With a intake and exhaust he could be round 200hp (crank) and that is a fairly light car with decent road ratios to pull at those speeds. Sorry to hear of your loss!
