Where are you in Florida? I'm in Lake Mary, i'm sure you've been there.

18's are the perfect size rim for the Maxima, but keep in mind with 18's performance usually suffers more. 17's are considered a good balance between performance and looks. A good 18 inch rim in chrome would look very nice on a Maxima, but it will give you a pimp look and take away from the sportiness in my opinion.

If I were you i'd get some nice polished, titanium, or aluminum 18x8's.

18x8 is the way to go, if you like chrome knock yourself out, also if you get chrome wheels get some nice ones dont get that giant hubcap stup!d **** looking wheels with teddy bears and little circles on them etc...that totally defeats the purpose of a wheel if thats the case just save your money and get chrome hubcaps.

My sig pic is a 18x8 245/40 18, my current set up is 18x8.5 still 245/40 18 with a 42 offset clears perfectly , I have to update the pics but motivation has gone down the drain due to my broken car that is now fixed

Brand http://www.akuza.com Model: Sublimes
Cost: Alot!!!!! I got them from Discounttire after someone had custom ordered them but didn't like em. I paid rims, tires, lifetime crap, mounting, etc 2k.

Size: 235/40-18 Great handling, no bumpy ride.
Tires: Kumho 712s

Chrome is tight, as long as you get a good looking wheel. 18's or 19's is the way to go. (IMO)

when you all say performance will suffer with an 18" wheel, what are we talking about? Just gas mileage? Speed?

Also... if I just stick some 17" or 18" wheels on my Max without lowering it, it should look fine, right? Living in Colorado and driving up and down the mountains and in the krap weather, I think having it lowered would be too much of a hassle.

NO 18s and not lowering will give you a jeep cherokee look with all that nasy fenderwell gap. What they mean buy your performance will suffer is it will take more HP to turn a 18 inch wheel vice a 17 or 16 specially if you get a heavy 18 like the one in my sig. I still have 18s but went with a 16.1Lb wheel to get a little of my power back besides it was time for a new wheel. Also your gas mileage and braking distance may suffer a bit when you are decelarating!!!keep that in mind when you think of purcasing a heavy wheel, accelaration, gas mileage and breaking those are the ones that suffer when getting heavy wheels.
