You can send the VB in or come in if your local. You will be responsable for shipping costs and the turnaround time is one day after I recieve the VB. This VB mod is very similar to Don's accept the shifts are a little chrisper. Trans cooler install is $80 and new tranny soleniods are recommended on units with over 80k on them. (call for more info). I understand my VB mod is new to the org. We have done over 10 Max's from 95-01 plus a 95 and 02 Altimas.(we also do other imports) I believe only two of the max's are on the board Raf2kmax and I can't remember the other guys screenname. If one of these guys would be kind enough to take you for a ride you will see how good the shifts feel. I hope I answered all you questions.

Jeff, sign me up for the VB mod and I also want a tranny cooler. Also, can you get the cooler if not I will try to find one. Let me know the price for VB with tranny cooler and soleniods, installed on my car. I will most likely get it if the price is right. Thanks, David.

Tranny cooler install is $80. The price on the soleniods depends on the year of your car. I'll post prices on monday.

In the 2 cars I've driven with Dons mod the shifts were quicker but you couldn't really feel them. Our VB shifts just a little quicker then Dons. We will eventually be offering three stages of the VB.
Stock Upgrade: This will quicken up the shifts and will feel a little more aggresive than stock shifts.
Street/Strip: This will be the most popular VB. More aggresive than the stock upgrade but still very drivable for the street. This is the VB we are currently offering and have been installing.
Racing: This will give a very aggressive shift and will probably cause the car to "chirp" upon hard acceleration. A hard shift will be noticed at all throttle applications.
Solenoids are recommended for units with over 80k on them because they are notorious for failing and the VB has to be removed to replace them anyway. There is no aditional labor charge for replacing the solenoids. I belive the solenoids cost anywhere from $80-$150 depending on the unit. Level 10 and Don do not replace these as part of there upgrades. I am not saying you have to change them it is recomended though.

Sounds cool, I'm interested. How do you know the shifts are "crisper" than the one Don does? Also, if we pay for shipping, its almost the same price as Don's since he includes Priority shipping, plus he can send you a core. Are you guys goin to have cores available?

I believe Dons mod is $450. Ours is $325 so unless shipping is $125 ours is less money. I know the shifts are chrisper because, like I said above, I've driven cars with Don's VB. We will have cores available so you don't have any down time but you will be charged a core charge which will be refunded to you when we recieve your VB. VB cores are limited though.

johnvt1111 & orgasmicNYC. You can bring the cars in for the VB. It will be competed in one day however we do the VB's after hours so you must drop the car off in the afternoon and pick up the following morning.

Word of advice with regards to the "Racing" setup; that's what I'm at for the 1-2nd shift as when we went for a drive before recalibrating the VB, the tranny wouldn't shift at all under boost.. daily driving WILL push your car around very hard, and you will not be able to just "ignore" it If you have a wife or nitpicky friends, they will ask you if your car is about to spit its tranny out at the next light. This is for a shift at any engine speed... word of advice folks, go with a quicker, but softer shift - you don't want to put wear on your other powertrain parts; going from motor mounts to even your exhaust (which in my case now likes to clank around during shifts).

But, I took her to the track this week, and I think I have the first automagic maxima that consistently chirps tires on 1st-2nd shift.

so are you saying if you use it as a daily driver you might now enjoy the hard shifts? That the vb mod has a noticeable difference on the car just driving around town?

At this level, you won't.. the car will REALLY push you around. A little lower and you'll probably like it, ie. option number two on Jeff's menu

I just shift manually from 1st-2nd.. it helps keep my motor mounts intact

Keep in mind Jer's max is supercharged.
Also please note we do VB's for 4th and 5th gen max's as well as Altimas. We will also be doing 3rd gens shortly.

Hey thanks again! Actually, his is only $350 right now with shipping, hes doing a deal. How much is the core deposit? I know that the one Don doesn't charge a core fee up front, only if you don't send it back. I'm ready to do this, i want to now how much is the core and how long until i gt one? i can't tie up all my $$$.

Yeah it is, but I'm referring to normal driving - not under boost. I don't run any boost unless I floor it, which is rare unless somebody ****es me off, or I'm on the highway.

Core deposit os $200. As soon as we have 10 definates we're a go for the $325 price.
Maxima168, if your coming down from Mass maybe we can set up a sat thing so you can have it back the same day. I don't sell TC's but we do install them. There is (obviuosly) an additional labor charge.
GD should be on for a couple weeks untill we get 10 or more people. If we can't get ten in a couple weeks price will go back to normal and we will do them on a one to one bassis.
BTW we pay the shipping back to you but you will be responable for shipping charges to us.

Jeff you might need to arrange some kind of sat or maybe Friday-saturday thing with me also. I'm in school 5 times a week and only get off early on Fridays. Let me know if were doing this gd and how should I make the deposit? I was at your shop before I will pay you 100%.
