Sorry to say but

I think theres another slip up here,

After recieving the boots today I noticed that the "TAN" colored shift boot I ordered didnt look quite what I expected. After viewing all the sample pics from your site I was convinced that the "TAN" was the best to match my interior, well the color I recieved matched the BEIGE color that was pictured on your site not TAN. Heres a pic of the boot I recieved- supposed to be tan but matches Beige

now heres the pic of the color it should have been-TAN

now you can see for yourself which color matches my interior and why I specificly asked for Tan, not beige.

color chart for reference http://boots.hypermart.net/clrchart.htm

Maciek- sorry if I sound like a difficult customer complaining and all but I feel, as a customer, I am entitled to because I payed good money and would like to get what I payed for. hope you understand.

Send them back. I'll refund your money. I haven't had that shade of tan leather for over a year now, it's no longer available. You're the only person who ordered a tan shift boot in this GD and since you didn't specify exactly what color you want, I used my best judgement and the leather that was available. Sorry I missed it.

Thanks,
Maciek

Is it possible for me to exchange the tan one for a regular black one?

Hey guys,

I got the olive ebrake boot in the mail a few days ago (thank you Jim!) and I have given it over to my people to find matching leather.

I've just talked to them. I cannot get the same exact leather as the olive stock vinyl. We have a few leathers more and less similar to your stock ones.

I'll have pictures today or tomorrow showing the difference and I will post them. Then all of you will have the chance to say which one would you want in exchange for the first ebrake boot.

To Chris and Matthel (you know who you are): I got both your shipments today and I will have your boots re-done so that those cuts are there no more. I apologize for them being there in the first place. All I can say is it's my fault and I'm sorry, it just can happen when you try to take on too much to handle at the same time.

Take care guys and I'll post the pics as soon as I can.

Maciek

Keepsake300ZX, I have received my boots and they look great.
The shift boot worked perfectly and I'm very happy.
The problem I'm having is that the e-brake boot is
too small. I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem.
I could have been sent one made from the wrong template.
The base of the ebrake boot is about 1-1/2 inches too
small so the wiring cannot create the full rectangle shape
even when the leather is stretched to its maximum potential.
Also the ebrake boot lever hole is about 1/4 inch too small.
The lever will not fit through even when loosening a few
stitches. I need to know what I can do to get the correct e-brake boot.

I appreciate all of your work on this and I do love the
product!

Ok guys,

here's the pic. It's taken in direct, late afternoon sunlight. It shows a black leather shift boot, the stock olive ebrake boot and a scap of leather I'd suggest.

In reality, the contrast between the leather and the stock vinyl is much smaller, it's only a bit brighter in color. The texture of that leather is very similar to that of the leather shift boot (but not exactly the same).

For those who can't decide basing upon that, I will try to get a indoor picture tomorrow (my digicam goes through batteries like crazy and I just ran out of batteries that have enough voltage in them to make it work).

If you can decide with this pic, please let me know. Your options are:

- an olive/tan leather ebrake boot with whatever thread color you want, as ordered previously in regards to extra options like quad and 4-way stitching

- black leather ebrake boot with same options as the shift boot

- $20 refund for the ebrake boot (the shift boot list price was $30 if you bought it alone).

Take care,
Maciek

That is REALLY weird, we only have one form for the ebrake and I haven't heard about any fitment issues before. Anyway, if it's too small, there's obviously something wrong with the way it was made... Please be so kind to email me at info@bestshiftboots.com and we'll make arrangements how to get you a proper one ASAP.

Thanks,
Maciek

Is it a full $50 refund since I purchase both shift and ebrake boot? I'm still looking for the exact match, so since you don't, I'd like the full refund.

I can agree to a full refund UNLESS your shift boot was customized (quad, 4way and/or any other thread color than black). If it was, I don't think I should be issuing refunds for it.

I'll have the indoor picture in a day or two, like I said, and the difference is much less visible then. It's pretty much the same color, except brighter.

Nope. Nothing special about these boots. Let me know how you want to handle this (address, etc.)

no problem...i wouldn't have contacted maciek to do them if they weren't excellent quality from the get go.

we just ran into a snag w/ the brown/sage green people. we're trying to fix it so everyone will be happy w/ their purchase.

I haven't installed mine. I was waiting for this to get resolved, and I was just going to send it back to him. It doesn't match and I don't want to double my work. Waiting, patiently.

Just wanted to update. Shipped my off-color brown e-brake boot back to the mfr a couple of weeks ago. No big deal, although I've singed my hand on the superheated e-brake handle a few times. The black shift boot looks excellent, a nice upgrade from the factory vinyl (or would it be pleather? naugahyde?) boot.

Any update on sourcing the oddball brown that some of us have? Thanks for your diligence Dan.

Ciao,
TOM
