It's quite simple.

Brian could easily bundle both items on one package and ship it for a lower price than if he were to ship it individually - thus the discrepancy in prices.

The way i see it, one product is subsidizing the shipping cost of the other.

Not a bad guess and I appreciate your volunteering it, but I would look more to the fixed costs per transaction vs the scale of the purchase as an explanation for the question you'd responded to. We use UPS and we save nothing by shipping multiple packages to the same address (the struts and springs can't be combined in one box - really heavy).

There is a set of small fixed costs that add up to roughly "$X" for each order I process, whether its for a set of dustboots or $1500 worth of assorted parts (and this consideration similarly has to take into account many of the business's other fixed costs as well).

The bigger the order, the more I can spread out $X and the lower the fixed costs per item sold. This is why I have to charge $145 if the springs are purchased alone but can sell them for the equivalent of $140 (because I'm not discounting them an additional $10, I'm discounting both parts an additional $5) if I sell them with the struts. [Refer to Economies of Scale, Chapter 2, Microeconomics 101.]

Do it yourself, Kevlo. All you need supposedly is a torque wrench and a spring compressor.

Parents don't trust me

I am going to take it to MZMTG, he is about 2.5 hours away and only charges $100.

I can go to the track while I am there too.

That's probably a good idea, Kevlo. I am sure he has done a few.

Kevlo, how close to Grayton beach or Ft. Walton Beach are you?

Hey Brian, I believe you mentioned somewhere in one of your posts that if we provide e-mail, you will e-mail then the tracking number. I still not did not get an e-mail form you and I mailed my MO more than week ago to you. Does that mean you still did not ship out my order?

Thanks, Vlad

If you are who I think you are (last name begins with H and ends with K?), I sent that confirmation on the 16th with tracking code to your hotmail address. We got your check on the 12th (Friday), shipped on the 15th (Monday) and I sent your tracking code the following day. UPS indicates they'll be delivered tomorrow.

I'll reply to you via your email link with more specifics.

Need HELP identifying customer!!!

We received a money order today but the only information with it is the customer's name, address and the amount of the order. Unfortunately, we can't read key portions of this on the envelop or money order. There is no other accompanying customer information.

The MO was for $380, so we know its for 95-99 struts and springs.

The customer's last name was Patel, first name begins Krish..., but we can't quite read it.
Address is on Highway 90W
Zipcode begins 324... But we cannot read the last two digits.
City is De Funiak Springs, FL

[BTW, I don't mean to embarrass this customer, nor should he be. The handwriting is really not bad at all, there are just a couple of key numbers/letters that we can't be confident enough about to ship the part.]

If you are this person, or know this person, please get back to me at bcatts@cattman.com with the full addressing information, phone number and email address as we'd requested in the initial group deal offer. Obviously we won't cash the MO until we determine whose it is and where they live.

Thanks a lot Brian! I never got your e-mail unfortunately. Most obviously it was dumped into my Junk Mail folder by the Hotmail filter and though I tried to keep an eye what I've got there, I must have missed it...

So I get them tomorrow.. I'm very happy!

Got my shocks last week. That is my firs shopping experience with Cattman and I am very satisfied. I should also have gotten Progress springs for them, but I went cheap and got Maxspeeds from eBay, Now I believe I got scammed because after 3 weeks springs are not here and I don't get answer to my e-mails.

That's the price for being cheap!
