Whats up everyone. Quick question. I just got my tracking number for my y-pipe and I noticed that under the purchase number it says: VQ MB/AL Y PIPE CA Does the CA at the end mean California emissions? Because I ordered a Federal one (there was a "U" in the 12th character under model number on silver plate on firewall) Am I right? I sent in to Warpspeed that it was Federal. If this is a mistake it really sucks because I ordered through PAYPAL on April 7. Now I'll have to wait longer. Growing impatient......
Thanks!!

Came in yesterday, installed this morning. Fun all afternoon.
A couple of tips
1.Take the time to unplug the 02 sensor harnesses and feed them down under the car. This way you can swap them from the old to new pipe while the pipe is not dangling under the car. Much easier in the long run and you wont risk damaging the harness.
2.Remove the Cat Heat shield before trying to pull the old pipe off.
3.Support the rear exhaust section with a jackstand placed between the cat and resonator.
4.Remove the little bracket from the bottom of the engine beside the oil pan where the two 12mm and one 10mm bolts are. If you leave it in the pipe may knock against it.
Quality of the pipe is fantastic and the fit was as close to perfect as you could expect

after i installed my y pipe gas mileage went down drastically. I filled up the tank and only drove 40 miles and its already used up 1/4 of gas. My cel is on, guessing one of the o2 sensors. How many o2 sensors i need to buy? I know my 99 cali spec have 4 but with this mod i think it only uses 2 could someone please confirm this? thanx

Invoice number
1999.5 NISSAN MAXIMA
Purchase Order
VQ MB/AL YPIPE CSCAT FED <=== ???
But I ordered a CALI (4 O2 sensors and "V" 12th character) not a FED!
So does this tracking information always reflect what was actually shipped?
Reverse mistake to what Cornbread is seeing or is these just typos in paperwork?
I also paid via Paypal on 4/7 for Y pipe plus cat, so this has been a long haul. Man I sure would hate to have to return this and start waiting again.

I just noticed that you ordered a cat too. I wonder if that needs to be changed as well. If it does, than we probably couldnt make the exchange.

Let me know what you think. It would probably be so much quicker.

Man I was afraid of this, and after all this time too. We're 30 miles apart and hopefully can work this out though Dallas. FedEx says I will receive mine on Thursday. I just PMed you. Hopefully we can get this straightened out without returning everything.
Anyone out there know if high flow cat is FED/CA transparent? I assume so but would like to hear from someone to be sure.

got my pipe , i just installed my y pipe...wow were thoes bolts hard to get off on the cat. Anyways I started my car and WTF it sounds soooooo loud i need ear plugs when driving. Please tell me my cat is leaking it sure as hell sounds like it is but I don't know if that is just how the warpseed y is suppose to sound. I also have a greddy cat back. I knew it would be louder but not this freakin loud. Well tomorrow i'm gonna check it out but i'm sooo worried right now cause if it does sound how it is i'm ****ed cause it ruined my greddy cat back sound. Please some one with the same setup give me a good description of the sound. (drones, sounds like crap, loud to the point u wanna cover ur ears....ect.) PLEASE HELP!!! thanks
SZEMAN4......i have an OBX catback and after installing the ypipe it made my catback sound terrible too....after installin it, my car is now A LOT louder, kinda raspy and when u step on the gas it sounds like the sound volume cuts in and out....dont worry....theres prolly nothin leaking from the pipes....ur just not used to the sound....Greddy catbacks are really loud and deep to begin with....so after the ypipe install theres not much u can do to quiet it down....u just have to get used to it....ive gottn used to mine and ive had it on for a week now......big power increase though....
ok i just got my pipe installed and under high acceleration there is a knocking sound comming from the y-pipe, andits some whwre near the arm rest. i heard u can putsome washers to stopit, but where do i put them?
Thanx
Thanx
PatienceMan, boy was i suprise when my pipe finaly showed. Came home today, 3 boxes waiting for me, Some side view mirrors, My new CAI and ofcourse my Warpspeed why pipe
.But i won't be installing it soon. Not until i get the matching B-pipe. Does anyone think thats a good Idea? Show i go with the warspeed B-pipe and is so can i use me OEM exausht or do i have to get a diff one?
Went to MaxiumTuning today and got it installed by DAN.
When DAN started up the car, it was soo quiet, like STOCK. I got in and tried to start up the car didnt realize it was already started. LOL
First thing i notice when i was driving out of the garage is that my gas pedal is more sensative, it accelerate much faster. I didnt really get a chance to PUSH it because there was traffic on the LIE.
NO PINGS or BANGS or any noise. Only thing i notice is there is a deep buzz noise when you step on the gas (accelerating from 500 to 2krpm).
Good Luck guys and thanks

Installation was about what I expected. Living in California, I did not anticipate any rust problems on the nuts or bolts. Nevertheless, some were on so tight that I found myself whacking on the wrench handle with a five pound sledge to get them loose. I also found that the nuts on the front pre-cat were 13 mm instead of the 10 mm that the directions indicated.
The fit and finish of the pipe seem fine. I didn't understand how the bracket that they sent me worked. It doesn't seem to perform any function, however the directions indicated that it should have included a bushing. It did not, so I'll call Warpspeed this week to see if I did something wrong or if they neglected to send me a part.
When I took the car out for a drive, I noticed the banging that I have so often read about. I'll have to get some washers this week so that I can lower the brace behind the cat. The car is a little louder, but it is barely noticeable--I still have the stock cat back. I didn't notice a great increase in power until about 4000 rpm in third gear--then I felt a real difference. I'll have to spend some more time driving the car before I can really talk about the effect on performance.
All in all, I think that it was $160 well spent. It didn't turn my car into a 350Z (wishful thinking), but it will make it easier to pass people and smile as I go by.

Received my pipe yesterday and installed today with same observations as above... (I am CA emissions too). No bushing, a strange bracket, etc.
But after following the directions, tightening up the 5 precat 13mm bolts, then everything else.. MY Y-PIPE IS TOUCHING MY CROSSMEMBER.
Before doing anything I plan to talk to Dallas. I would really hate to grind down the crossmember even a little. Can anyone that is happy with their fit tell me exactly how much clearance they have between Ypipe and crossmember? What is the minimum distance that is needed? This is really frustrating.
Thanks, Bob
I have over an inch between the Y-pipe and crossmember in my 96 and I don't have any noise generated by the pipe. The strange bracket you guys have mentioned, is it a cat hangar?

mrroger, i currently have the same problem. paid about a month and a half ago and still nothing. if u haven't heard from warpspeed at all u may want to call them and ask. i did and the problem was that they didn't have the year for my max or my phone number, even though i posted them with my payment information. well, they were sure to take my money eventhough they had no contact with me. when i called they said dallas had sent a number of e-mails trying to contact me to get my info. i have never received an e-mail from warpspeed. the lady i talked to about five days ago said she would ship my pipe that day. i still don't have but i hope it will be here by wednesday. also, if warpspeed says they will call u back u may want to call again in about an hour just to make sure

Strange bracket follows. Anyone have any luck installing this? Where/How?
(called Dallas today, he agrees that pipe touching crossmember, or grinding down crossmemeber is unacceptable and at least 1/8" or 1/4 inch" gap is needed.... he is sending me a replacement pipe)

Well its a bit Louder with the new y-pipe, i like it.
It sounds like bit like a fart can but quieter.
Overall its still quiet as the original stock.
I think when you start the car in cold days its louder and idles hard with a bit of shaking.
Finally got to test it out this weekend, all i can say is WOW! love the extra power.
Question? There was a bit of water dripping i think from the y-pipe. I think its the water from the AC but not sure. can you guys take a look and tell me?

i posted all of my info. on the forum and it was to my impression that the list of information would be sent to warpspeed. they had my credit card number and address but nothing else. if everyone else who got in on the deal had to call and give their info. there wouldn't be a problem but it was somehow "magically" lost

I have that crappy raspy noise too. Was at the Cattman meet in Tuscon and Cattman himself said its cuz of the crappy flex section that Warpspeed uses. I noticed that the flex section on the Cattman pipe is about 1/2 to 1/4 smaller than the one on my Warpspeed. The raspyness sucks ***, but at idle its so intimidating. I pulled into the meet in Tuscon and right as I turned off my car at least 4 people asked what kind of exhaust I had
But once I reved it, they were disgusted =/ But hey... at least its not like Tommy's :P
