Xerox, you are helping to make those of us already with clear/reds not as unique! Shame on you.

I'm just kidding man, even though I already have them and don't need a set I still admire you for spearheading this. Good luck.

"under $100".....you cheap fu(ks no wonder why they're not being made. the 97-99 aren't even that cheap and you can get them anywhere now.

I've made this suggestion to the last group that tried and failed at getting red/clears made. DON'T COPY THE DAVID L's!

Instead, go with a similar design, but with a clear, transparent red & clear lens instead of the frosted, opaque look of the 97-98 Davis L's and painted all clears. Something more 2004 styled. I know this may fall on deaf ears, but guys let's be Unique!

We are looking at just a lens option instead of a full unit, anymore then 100 would be highway robbery!

He still hasn't emailed me back yet. So what I think I might have everyone do is start emailing him about these red/clear lenses and maybe he'll be more motivated to start this project. So I'm going to email him again today. If he doesn't respond by Tuesday I'll post and tell everyone to start emailing him.

Yeah, clear-clear or diamond-clear (whatever you want to call it) would be very nice. I actually thought of that too. However, you would have to redo the inner/trunk lights as well to match. And we would have to have pretty insides to look at which I don't know that we do.

So thing are pretty tacky behind the lens? I've never seen a dismantled or broken light housing? Maybe someone has a picture of the housing without the lens.

In fact, don't we, in a sense, already have diamond clear/reds available to us? I don't remember the exact years but certain year I30s have outer red clears with the diamond clear that you are talking about Brock. And I beleive the red is on the bottom so it would best work for us 95/96ers. I am 90% sure the outer taillights of an I30 fit our outer tails. I just always assumed no one used them because they would not macth the inner/trunk lights. ??

To answer your question, I wouldn't call our insides something you'd want to look at. Not awful but certainly not glamorous.

Yeah i think the I30 outer tails actually are fliped with the "clear" turn signal on the bottom... that would make it look like the outer tails of a 97-99 and the inner tails of a 95-96... kinda wierd..i like the idea of the diamond cut clear housings but to be quite honest one of the things that makes 95-96 maximas stand out is the front bumper...and the tails...dont you 95-96 guys wana keep that look? i know alota people wana swap the front bumper to look like a 97...and i am down with that cause i dont really like the way a 95 looks with a lip..kinda tacky....but our tails look WAY better than the 97-99 tails...IMO it makes us stand out...without them everyone wouldnt be able to tell the difference between the years...

Quite honestly i dont like the way the 97-99 tails look AT ALL...i prefer our tails ONLY IF we could get that dam turn signal clear...thats the only think i want, and the only thing that would look nice without being flashy or rice-ish.....

Just something to think about when you wana swap the turn and reverse light to the bottom...i dont think we should do it...and if you DO do it, im outa this deal...simply put..

Well still no reply. So maybe if some people email him with interest in getting red/clears maybe he would be more motivated to make these. I'm not asking all to pester him but rather just email him with an inquiry about making the red/clear tails. If I hear anything I'll let you guys know.

Relax Xerox. Nobody said anything about making these Red/Clear instead of Clear/Red.

Why do you hate '97/'99s so much?

Its not even that i hate them...i just hate how people wana change the tails from their 95s to 99s...you know? thats like buying a 61 impala, and wanting to slap the 64 or 65 impala tail lights on it...you just dont do it... why, do you ask? cause THATS WHAT MAKES THE CARE DIFFERENT....

Its just that little stuff that we have on our cars that makes us differ from the other "maxima" years you know? i meen, have some pride, dont try to like change everything on the car to the year above or below it... ur better off just buying the car that your trying to make it look like....

Yeah, don't blow a gasket. I'm just suggesting something different and not a copy of something else the already out, particularly a copy of the David L's. Let them keep their originality.

I agree with you but, it I don't know why but, it just kiiiiils me that the red is on top and clear on the bottom. It drives me nuts. I know it's just me but I picture a glass of Kool-Aid with the Kool-Aid floating at the top half of the glass. It just isn't right. O.k., o.k., I know I'm weird... :I

me too, but only if they were red/clear. But if it were 95 amber vs, 97 amber then I have to go with the 97. and hands down, front end belongs to 97-99.

i like the 96-96 frnt end if it has the stillen lip and fogs in the bumper. i thinks it looks meeaner than a 97-99 front end and plus you seee more of 97-99 maximas than 95-96.

New news. I just got an email back David and he said that the price will be around $110-$115. I don't know if this includes shipping but if it doesn't I don't think that shipping will be that much anyway. There are still some things that have been unanswered but maybe now that he's given me a price he'll email me back on a regular basis. So this isn't final, but probably close to the price if not exactly it. I'm hoping to get lower than $110 or $115 if that is what he's looking at.

The price is fine as that for me...im happy as long as its not over 140-150...that is resonable...

Ans is he just doing a custom job for who ever wants in on this ? or is he gona add them to his production line? or are we the only ones that will get in on this?

if so i might be in for an extra pair so i can rip some of the rich people in my neighborhood off..heheh "oh yeah these are custom, you will never see these again!....ill sell em for 300...good deal!" haha muAAAAHAHAHA

i hope i dont go to hell...

lol, I'm pretty sure it's just a custom job so basically this is a one time deal so all those that want in better get in while the time is still there. Once I know everything for sure I will make a new thread for all the details etc.
