But hopefully the red will be no problem, its not special or anything..

I'd gladly pay for a pair of all clears if the red/clears can't be made.

He's only making the outer lenses. So hopefully the outer lens red matched the inner lens red.

Have you been reading this read from the beginning? The objective here is to make red/clears for the outers with the closest match possible to the inners. In order to match the outers and the inners, you would need a set of inners as a referece? Still following me?????

I have been reading from the beginning. The stock outer red and stock inner red already match. So therefor, in order to match the new outer reds to the inners, all he needs to do is match the new outers to the old outers. Are you following me????

yea but they want to match the clear also, cause they need to stick a reflector in there as for DOT regulations.

Your stock taillight already has a reflector in it. All he has to do is make the top part clear.

Still waiting to see if he can match the red. I'll let you know as soon as I know.

Yeah, I hear you (however the original question is how he was going to match the 'paint', to me paint means red, not clear). But as nice as it would be for the outer clear to match the inner clear, I don't see it happening. Unfortunately the inner is a dark clear. I suspect this product will be the same as those of us who have the APC outer clears: the outer and inner clears won't match.

that sucks if they do not match. so he should make the inner and outer taillights clear and we weill apint them cause it would suck if the clears wont match.

The APC clears are garbage the clear lens the way they are designed don't match the inner. Well my theory is make a clear part only so that way we can use a dremel cut the orange out and just replace with the clear. Obviously have it professionally done I know I can do it myself and glue(silicone) it together and now you have a red clear not having the trouble of matching the red.

Oh... I am THEE perfectionist...thats why i said to go ahead and just make new inner AND outer lenses so that we can just pay a lil extra for that perfection...

If he cant match it, or sais he might not be able too...its a fact that it just aint gona look as good as we want it too....so why dont we just toss an extra 80 bucks in to the price or something and make a WHOLE new housing inner and outer...

i would rather pay more money and have something Easy to install and look sexy as hell, than to pay half the price for something that still needs werk and still isnt gona look that good...

just a thought

Have you been living in a cave? Why do you think some 95/96 people have red/clears? APC used to make the outer lights all-clear. People would then paint the lower half red. They no longer make them.

Im still in for whatever price as long as they are red/clears, count me out if they are just clear and I would have to paint them myself. The whole thing would be better but if you are only able to get the insert im still in.

Haha. Okay. Got it now. I knew that a company had made all clears but didn't realize it was APC. Keep pushing them.

I am only 80% sure that APC made them. I am just going by what everyone on the .org says. Everyone says APC made them. But I bought mine new (in 2001/2) and it didn't say APC anywhere on the box and it doesn't say APC anywhere on the lights. ??

I am interested in these taillights. If the look good and the price is good.

Camon Guys lets keep up Hopes up, everyone is talking that the guy won't be able to match the lenses. and deciding to buy all clear.....

all I'm thinking is "if a few weeks I will be with be perfectly matched red clears on my 95 se maxima.

and one more thing. if other people have said they can match the color of the lenses, it was because they were lazy and didn't feel like taking the time to look for the right colors.
I work at my school thearter (where you have to change light colors for every play that is happening) and we have tons of color paper to match what evcer color you can dream of.
There are companies in this world that live out of making clored plastic foils, for these exact circunstances. (make maxima tail light lenses)

P.S. I hope the guy in australia is capable of matching the color of our tail light.
