They will definitely make the ride nicer. Illuminas will even give a better ride with stock springs. It may or may not fix the clunking etc. You may want to replace the strut bearings (these will cause a clunk when the wheels are being turned if bad). The rubber parts in the suspension could be bad too. If you didn't put spring isolator's (I think that's what they're called) on then that's probably the squeaking. They are rubber things that go on the second coil in from both top and bottom to keep the coils from rubbing together (what causes the squeaking). You can also use wire wrap (which will be cheaper). I think there are instructions for this on VQpower. I would be very surprised if your shocks aren't blown (which is dangerous). You really shouldn't have used stock shocks with lowering springs in the first place, but at this point it's definitely time to change 'em out.

I added you as expressed interest. If at any time you would like to be added to the list just let me know.

Thanks for setting this up. I'll have them installed over Thanksgiving.
That's great info. It only took 5 days after ordering including a weekend (which I expect slowed things down a bit).

Everybody else: Please wait for my ordering instructions before ordering!!! Don't call up until after ordering. I am not getting anything out of this deal (except my $408 illumina's), so anything that makes this easier for me is very much appreciated. If you all just call brad to order it's harder for me to keep track of what is left. Thanks for your cooperation.

I'll try to call tomarrow to find the status of getting springs with this, how long until the next order comes in, and how many 5th gen sets (if any) are left.

I saw "max5spd (beginning of next year)" so I assume I can put interest in these until beginning of next year also?

Thank you!

Yeah sure. Won't really do anything though. I just didn't know what else to do with it . I won't be running any more (since I'll have mine), but Brad seemed very open to future illumina GDs, so one of you should take charge and start another thread when you're ready to order.

Ok.

Looks like you guys have a good start for next year. Like I said I won't be running any more of these, but one of you guys should definitely do it when the time comes.

You've been added.

S-techs will be very low and look very good, but at the cost of both comfort and handling. Read this to help you decide on springs. Tokico springs may be offered with this deal...we'll see.

Talked to Brad today. There are no sets left. He said he expects the next order late this week or more likely early next week. He hadn't found out about tokico springs yet so who knows if that will happen. He told me (and I guess I kinda new this already, but forgot) that tokico springs are only made for the 4th gen...so you 5th gens will have to look into getting springs elsewhere.

I got a PM from thread who evidently talked to brad and was told he would be willing to do GDs for any of the other products they carry, so if any of you would like to start one up feel free to do so. I believe they carry eibachs if you want some of those.

For a similar drop (but better performance, ride, and overall quality) you should look at H&R's and eibachs.

H&R"S I really like all the info regarding about this one the only thing is smooth ride can be possible with this set up??? Tokico- H&S??????

Someone help me!!!!!!!!! PLZ.............

Illumina's and H&R's will be the smoothest lowered ride you can get.

Much better choice than the maxspeeds you were originally considering.

So you think the H&R's are smoother than the new Tokico springs? What are you basing that comparison on? Looks like MaxMods thinks they'll be pretty much identical. Have you run across new info/feedback in the last couple weeks to make you believe otherwise and now settle firmly on the H&R's?

I've never been lowered, so I'm really just going on what I've read. Whenever somebody asks for a comfortable lowering spring H&R's are always the first suggestion.

I think H&R's, H-techs, and tokico springs will all be very similar in both comfort and performance. Phenryiv (who has had both H&R's and H-techs and who I bought my h-techs from) felt that the h-techs were a bit less comfortable, but performed slightly better than the H&R's and seemed to like the h-techs better (this was before he wrecked the car and was selling the springs). Honestly I think you would be very happy with any of those choices, so just go with whatever you can get the best deal on. Of course this is assuming your main goals are performance and comfort (this is relative...no lowered setup will be as comfortable as stock). A lower spring (s-techs, sprints etc) will certainly look the best, but won't perform as well (my main goal with lowering) and will be stiffer. Good luck with your decision!!!

I thought maxspeeds were a copy of H&R's - I've been very happy with the comfort (with AGX KYB much better than Eibach/Tokiko blues ride I had previously)

2001 Se Tokico - H & R setting 2 front and 2 back I LOOOOOOVEEEEE IT !!!!!!!

George you was RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2000 Se Tokico - Eibach A little to hard to me..... but fine..........

2000 SLE ( GLE!!!) Eibach- KYB Feels like stock a little bit of performance BC of the drop........ I really don't like it.....

1999 Se Eibach - AGX Too hard in the back......

Eibachs are very stiff springs (they are made for performance, not comfort) and tokico blues are basically stock (not made for lowering). I have never been lowered so what I say is from what I've heard, not my own experience. Maxspeeds are very cheap though and from what I've heard they ride like they cost (cheap)...as long as you're happy with them and they aren't unsafe then that's all that matters.

H&R's from all accounts. Closest to stock while still improving looks and handling. Nothing will be as smooth as stock, but H&R's should be very comfortable.

If you remember, just PM me or something. Usually buying stuff from the performance shops here in Hawaii means you pay the hammer. Just let me know. Thanks!
