6th Gen again....

I spoke with someone on anther thread and they said they had to do some cutting in order to make the wires fit through the housings on his 6th gen. Just to clarify he had a halogen light and was upgrading.

I know you said you did a 6th gen but didnt see anything written about whether there was any cutting involved. Again I do not want to screw up my new max by trying to upgrade its just not worth it. Can you please let us know?

i think he is talking about this.

thats the cap that some cars has....is easy to use a 1" hole driller to make a perfect hole and allow the wires go in. This is make to keep sealed the headlights from the water, etc.

yes i sent you the emails. First you can check your manual and it says 9008 that is the same as H13, i dont know why your shop told you that....no maximas use 9006 on the history, just 9004, H4 and H13 that is the new generation for high and low bulbs.

We have installed 2 2005 maximas on the shop without any problem and the cars used H13. My staff took like 1 hours on the installation(they installed also hid on the fogs).

First a few questions regarding the projector hid lamps. What exactly is it that makes them to appear "rainbow-like" in your rear view mirror?

Also, has anyone ever installed http://www.sportcompactonly.com/prod...ium=shop&c=110
and has pictures of how the lights look when they are on / at night?

Or this product
http://store.yahoo.com/mytightride/nima20prhewi.html
Same question, pics installed and with the lights on / at night?

Lastly, what do I have to do to get in on this group deal?

Thanks!

it looks really hot, the important matter there is the quality of the projectors, sometimes headlights like that comes with very cheap projectors and doesnt have any profit on the light. If you install hids it will be waste of money, of course it depends of the brand, quality of the lens, etc. I dont know those brands maybe someone can help with that info. The rainbow-like = crystal lens on the projector(i think you are talking about that).

You just need to send the payment heheheh to be in.

i think the rainbow-light effect is caused by the cutoff point. if you look at the picture i posted, at the cutoff there is a lot of color, and when a car behind you accelerates or brakes, this moves the cutoff point around and you see different colors flashing in your rear view. as for the angel eyes (what BMW calls them, also 'demon eyes') IMO they look freakin great. i'm getting a set of e46 projectors retrofitted into my headlamps, and i'm gonna get some angel eyes put over the projectors, i can't wait! i'll get some pics when it's all said & done.

Remember the cutoff its for internal shield that give you the DOT pattern, of course the cut off reflects a lot in the lens of the projector so if you are infront the wall you will see that. But if you see the car from the front and you move the effect looks from different angles of the car. Thats the lens and projector curve.

The thing that is confusing me the most is: When I check out the projector lamps of a parked car, they look like the projector lamps as shown in the links I posted. Nothing real special there...

I have a LED flashlight with a "projector" lens. The effect it produces from one tiny 5-7mm led is awesome. I think the same thing applies to automotive light bulbs/hid.

Basically:

1) Can I upgrade the 2002's stock D2R HID bulbs and get a rainbow like effect?

2) Has anyone picked up a set of those angle eye projectors, and if so:: PICS!!!

maximas best forgive me im just learning about all this, but what would look good with 2k2 headlights..? im going to install the angel eyes as well but is 12k too much for foglights or is 9k better (i just want the them to match in color)? i dont remember off hand what the factory HID headlights were, i have 12k stuck in my head though.

i am interested in the kit for foglights, just not sure on the intensity, 9k or 12k probably.. i would PM you but its not letting me on this forum for some reason.. if you can my email is vectorz1985@yahoo.com for payments and further details. thanks for your time.

you can only pm when you have 15 or more posts. 9k and 12k will be too much, you will diminish your light output severely, and more than likely blind oncomers with all of the glare from those. Stick with 6k-7k, and you'll be fine. Fogs come in 6k

Here is a pic from my car I bought 7000 Hid's From MB...
You have to understand that the blue you see is more purple in real life like looking at a BMW at night when driving on the road..
