GD on side CF Mirror Covers by Ionic Dynamics :) 4th and 5th gens!!!!

Hi guys!

I've been getting a lot of emails lately asking us to develop these parts. We were able to acquire a set of regular mirror covers and use them as a template. After a good amount of weeks we have finished tooling the prototypes, test fitting them, and going on to the final stage of making production molds and pieces.

We are making these covers out of 100% CF and we only use ultra clear UV resins + marine quality clear coats, this means that these covers will not fade or turn yellow in years, we use the same exact materials that we do on our CF trunk lids and lip kits, so please rest assured that these are high quality parts. They are tailor made to be double sided taped or epoxy glued on (not included) without any modifications needed.

The GD will be at a rock bottom price of 100 dlls shipped anywhere in the continental USA and will last for a total of 10 sets for each gen. They are now ready to be ordered and shipped.

Please use this link to order a set of 4th gen CF side mirror covers:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...harset=UTF%2d8

Please use thins link to order a set of 5th gen CF covers:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...harset=UTF%2d8

Here is a pic of how the 4th gen mirror covers look like when installed:

I will have pics of the 5th gen covers by tomorrow night.

Please feel to email me if you have any questions at info@ionicdynamics.com

Thanks!

Jose.

Very interested, but I would like to see more pics. Especially where the CF shell meets the mirror. I'm concerned about the fitment. I hope it's an EXACT fit.

Also, can the mirror still be pushed in w/o scratching the CF shell?

When you say "use double sided sticky tape" you mean the strong ultra-thin stuff my 3M? or?

Recognize the spark plug cover in my sig??

Thanks for continuing to come out with new products for us!

These are just overlays. They go over your exhisting mirror. The do not effect the acutual mirror in any way.
Since thse are covers, and 3m double sided tape is need to secure them, there is asmall gap in between the mirror and shell. The only way I could imagine to eliminate that gap would be to use an actual adhesive and glue them onto the the mirror.

Sorry for the delay in pics guys, Ive had some issues with my car. I had some body work being done at one shop, and I pulled it from that shop to go into another.

The Wizard,
Yes, 3M double sided tape. Dont worry, it holds on very well. If I were to try and remove them they would be destroyed in the process.

Thanks Flava!!! Much appreciated.

Edit: your last pic doesn't look like the pic Ionic posted in post #1. What gives???
In the second pic, are they supposed to "stop short" of the edge??? Looks like a good 1" difference... Hmmmmm.....

Its just the angle, thats my car and a pic that i took. That pic is more of the back of the cover.
They dont go all the way to the edge. Just like the OEM setup. Look at you mirrors, there not painted all the way to the edge. Thye stop short and are black at the edge.

Hmmm... no offense but those don't look so hot. Why does the one in post #1 look so much better than the pics in post #14? The CF cover/shell in post #1 looks like it covers the entire backside all the way up to the hinge. In the rear pic of post #14, the CF clearly stops short of the hinge and stops a good 3/4" off the inside edge. In looking at the side view, the CF cover clearly stops a good inch to 1.5 inches from the front edge - not just the stock 1/2" of black border you mentioned. It looks like you used electrical tape to cover up the 1/2"+ of white paint not covered by the CF shell ??? And in looking at the straight on shot, it appears the shell is a little too large for the mirror? I'm not too sure about these mirror covers. You guys might want to modify your design a little before selling them.

Its just the angles the pics were taken at.
The first pic that was posted was taken from angle showing just the shell. The other s were taken to show where the shell meets the mirror, I do agree they would look a lot better if the sections outlined in red were in CF as well.

It not electrical tape, it is tape though. its a high gloss thin tinted tape I picked up from my work. Its reall thin, basicly transparent with a tint of black.

Right. So why does the picture in post #1 appear to cover this redlined location (passenger side shown in pic. #1, driver side shown in this pic.)?

Hi guys!

I don't know what's going on with flavors pics, it looks like they are not properly installed. I will do my best to install a set on my old max and take lots of pics.

And just to clarify some quesitons here, these are designed to cover the painted section of the mirror shells.

Please bear with me that my old maxima is at my parents house and they are a good 90 minute drive away from me.

Thanks!

Jose.

Hey Jose although I am out of the country if it would be easier and closer for you, you can use my car. It is still at my inlaws and I'm sure it would be okay for you to stop by.

I dont see how you could install them any other way. If you did, the bottom section of the cover would not line up with the OEM mirror and would expose more of the painted backside of the mirror.

There just not cut long enough on top.

Now maybe my set is the only ones like this, i dont know. Can some pics be posted of another set installed to compare?
If indeed my set is the only like this and the others are cut longer on top to meet the edge of the mirror and go out to the edge on the backside as well then Id like to get another set to replace these.

Wow that looks like something I'd expect from APC...I was going to order some of these too, but I want it to replace the cover, not cover over it..Why buy a cover to cover another cover? That's redunant and pretty stupid..If this thing actually REPLACED the OEM cover, I'll get it..

Btw it looks like a sticker from the front..Eh... =\
