hey any of u guys running the alpine f240 4 channel amp ?... well im not sure if I should run it at 40x4 so each speaker is being powered by the alpine or just run it at 100x2 pushing the rainbows and just powering the rear spaekers with the headunit ..... what do you guys think ??? ... what are you guys all gonna run to power these rainbows ??? .... lets get some feedback going here ..... DON what do u recommend ?

 

Bridge it to the rainbows, use the HU or nothing to power the rears.

Uh just leave'em there. They're nothing special to look at, just to listen to. Why would you want him to waste money on shipping when your coming down anyways?

 

Any word on prices for the "upper" lines?...and really?...more power and better clarity than the DA Hex 600s?...ill be running a 12" W7 to go along with these so i need them loud as well to keep up with the bass...

Uhm its not cheaper to not have it shipped so Im assuming delivery is in the price... But that's irrelevant... The reason is because I wanna see them already, waited the whole week to see if the delivery guy came!

 

This is completely retarded. Don will have them there for you whenever you get them installed, and you can see them before they go in. Furthermore, why would you risk money youve already spent? i.e. What happens if they get damaged in shipping? What happens if you accidentally drop one when you're 'looking' at em? Then you're fu(ked out of your set for an extra few months til Don places another order and has em shipped. Just relax, theyll be there waiting for you.

 

I did not ask Don to hold them for me, and I will pay for them once I get them installed correct? I do not see anything wrong or RETARDED with asking to recieve products that I've paid for. But neverthelesss I appreciate you comments and concern. Thanks for your input on the matter.

hey, yeh, I havent gotten them yet, maybe they will be waiting for me when I get home from schoo today.

I may not be installing these until august though, because im saving up for a new car (300xz twin turbo ) will their be any problem of letting these sit for 3 months? what kind of waranty do these have for that, I know the warranty wouldnt cover voice coil damage or anything like that, but one of my friends had a sub in his closet for like 6 months, and he pulled it out to power it and the vc was "frozen" I think the copper might have oxidized and stuck or something, i dunno, what i do know is that it wouldnt work.

yeh, I dont have much money, just working part time at kmart, and yeh...not a whole lot of money.

The only way that im getting the new car is to go down to florida in work, if the deal comes through, I will have a job to earn $6k-$10k for the summer months. Then when I come back, get my car, install my US AMPS amp and the slc's, and ill be fast and sound nice too

Im not sure exactly where, its construction and what not (ill be laying down network infrastructures if i get the job, which basically means running and terminating ethernet all summer long, fun...but it will pay well.

money isnt hard to come by, you just gotta look in the right places, my friend is gonna drive a grain truck (semi w/ trailer) this summer for two weeks, and he is gonna get $2k to do it. And since we have loopholes in oklahoma because of harvest, he doesnt need a class a liscense to drive the truck, he just needs to know how to drive it. I might do it, because my dad has a class a with quite a few endorsements and he has taught me how to drive road trucks pretty well, only thing im ever uncomfortable with is that you cant use your brakes too much or they'll run out.

They were here when I got home. I just wish they would have come with a "ball" type swivel cup housing for the tweeters since i dont want nor can i get kick panels for my car.

how is the off-axis response for the tweeters, i hope its good, because i wont be able to mount them on axis in my grand am.

 

The off axis response is actually quite good, just reverse the tweeter polarity on both if the distance is more than say about 15" or so.

Can always make ya some kicks.
