Either the kx165 or the SL165 will do the job, dependant on what youll be using for power.

Eh Im a Eclipse fan.

Put me down for a pair of SL165 for $120 right? I put the SLC165 in today and Don your god! Sounds 100x better than bose. Mounting the tweeter next to the door handles makes a world of difference. Now to fix up the rear. Hook it up .

OK Don,

Going to pull the trigger after you or someone here can answer these questions . They are NOOBIE questions so please don't flame.

1. Will these components be a 'swap' from the stock system I have in the '01? If I take out the tweeter, will it fit where its at now or will I have to make some adjustments?

2. When taking these doors apart, is it really that hard? is there a write up for this?

3. Do I need to hook up an amp for this? Or could I just use the stock radio? I do plan to get a HU but not right now cause I'm saving up for an Eclipse.

Thank you. I'll send paypal after I hear from you. Thanks again!

Andy

Andy,

No component set will be a direct "swap". Although quite easily fit in and yes they will fit the factory locations for both midbass and tweeter.

Taking the doors off is quite simple. Theyre are writeups but explaining is just as easy.

Using an amp is Very strongly recommened. They will work without one, but your taking away from what their intended purpose is as well as risking destruction to them.

I sent a pm about 3-4 days ago asking about amps, what kind of amp I needed, if he would sell me one, which one he recommended and still have not rec'd a reply. Since it seems someone doesnt wantg my replies to reach Pearl, I will write it here...God I would have hated if I sent payment info through pm...So, I have a 06 Chevy Equinox, looking at SLC265 and SL165 for rears. Max RMS for the 265 is 150 watts, the 165 is 120W. I can go all out and get a 150X4 amp, but dont wanna blow the speakers if their max is 150. I asked if Pearl sold amps, since he said he would sell other items upon request. I didnt wanna pay $400 for an amp alone...and also asked if he could recommend a sub amp also since I will prolly put subs in sometime, just not right now. Still dunno price, but Im gonna take a wild stab in the dark and say 220+120 and thats my total...still would like some amps, but never got a reply to the pm. So how should I pay...was told cc's have to be done through phone and that he takes other payments...responded saying Discover masks my number so I could just give him the info here. Id like to pay, but would have liked answers to my questions too

I did respond rewuesting a propsed budget for said amps. I would also prefer to do via phone or Paypal. I really dont like peoples info put in emails or PMs regardless of the system used. I may be referred to as old fashioned, but I just feel more secure.

Go to www.paypal.com register & confirm and then enter one of your credit card's in...then at the top press Send Money then type in the email MyPearlTPI@aol.com then the amount which is 340 in your case. The category of purchase is Goods. Type in the note box your maxima forums username and what you ordered from him. That is the easiest way to pay. This is exactly what I do when I buy from anyone on the forums.

Just as I expected...something is wrong with either me getting or recieving pm's or maybe its everyone...dunno...never got info...proposed budget for amps would be $400/piece if I need to go that high...Would like to keep total around $1G for speakers and the 2 amps...Im thinking a 2 chan amp for subs and 4 chan for speakers...I hear they make a (as example) 50X4 and 200X2 amps (Id call that 6 channel but basically it powers the 4 speakers and 2 subs)...Also, I hear it gets pretty stuffy, so I was thinking I need amps with fans...Paypal is fine...I understand your position on security as it looks at for both the buyer and seller. Let me know if you can help me out...it is much appreciated.

so once you get payment from 10 people do you start sending the orders out to those who pay or do you wait for everyone to pay and then mail everything out at once?
