Since I see you have a 2000 Maxima, I assume you are asking about the VQ30DEK kit and not the VQ30DE kit. There are not any updates on the DEK kit right now. We are fully concentrating on getting the 4th gen Maxima kit released by this Spring. The 5th gen DEK kit will probably be designed differently and we don't even know for sure yet if there will be a big enough power gain to justify producing this kit. But stay tuned.
Thanks for your interest.

I'm gunna get an '04 3.5 engine for my swap. I dont plan on running the EGR because I will probably use the IM from an '02. I will be using 4th gen headers, so those will need to get the EGR welded shut or capped off. Which kit do I want?

I don't see what the headers have to do with intake manifold spacers. The intake doesn't have ports for the egr like the 4th gen one does.
Just weld the nut closed that held the old egr tube to the old header and use it as a plug. Unless nwp makes these plugs I don't think its that related to this thread :-/

But the Thermal Intake Spacer Kit for the VQ35DE Maxima is the same for the 2002-2008 Maximas. The EGR system did not effect the fitment of the spacers at all and the design is the same as the nonEGR 5th gen 3.5L Maximas.
Yes, you are correct. All EGR systems redirect exhaust back into the intake manifold. I may have an EGR block plug for you to go on your headers. I just need to know the size. If it's the same as the 3rd gen Maxima, then I do have an extra block plug for you so you won't have to do any welding. The easiest way to determine the size is to measure the OD of the male threads on the EGR tube itself in millimeters. Then shoot me an email at [aaron@nwpengineering.com].

Right now, the VQ35DE Spacers are on backorder. But orders are still being accepted. Once the first batch of VIAS Plates sell out, this free shipping promotion will end. I only expect this promotion to go on for another week or so.
Please visit www.NWPEngineering.com for more information or feel free to post any more questions.

Where can I find a damn torque wrench that will do 0-whatever. I know in the instructions there are a few areas that need 4-7 or 12-15 ft lbs but all i can find at sears, o'reilys etc are the 10-100 or 20-150 ft lbs wrenchs. I'd like to get this done before the March 16th meet because I also have to still install the FSTB and the CAI. If I put those 2 items on now and leave the intake spacer off til the meet and you can get me into your 'tent' for the install (if possible), then I'd have to take all that stuff back on and I want to come to the meet COMPLETE. Thanks in advance.

Or you can try to find a torque wrench that can measure in ft-lbs that low.
Anyone around the panhandle of Fl that could help me out. I ain't no mechanic but would like some assistance from someone who has already installed them. Any takers? I'll be at the WPB meet on the 16th, but not sure if anyone wants to spend the beer drinkin and BBQin' workin on an engine ya know. Much help would be appreciated. Not sure if I trust it with an 'engine shop' ya know.

But the peak gain these spacers make are at a lower rpm. The peak gains are where you see the arrows.
Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks.

Glad to see these are back on sale. Is there any sort of discount for combined orders of the intake spacers + block plate? If so, I'd jump on it right now....money's in hand. Thanks in advance.

Also, the VIAS/SSIM Block Plate Kits are on backorder right now. We hope to have more in stock by the end of March. This is such a high quality item that is takes a few weeks for a production batch to be made. There are several stages it has to go through such as CNC Machining, Tumbling, Beadblasting, Polishing, then Silver Anodizing.
Orders are still being accepted on our website. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Just bought the spacers and block plate. Since both were purchased, will I have to wait for the new batch of block plates to come out before receiving my spacers? If so, I don't mind, just so as long as it's not months from now.

Thank you. Yes, the Spacer Kit and Block Plate Kit will ship together. Right now, we are expecting to have more Block Plates in stock by the end of March.

Will do. My b-day's on the 29th, care to consider it a b-day present? Heh. Nah, but in any regards, this is the first performance upgrade I've done to the max, and couldn't of been more please for the money I've spent. Looking forward to the end of March. Thanks again.

If anybody with a DEK would like to attempt to install the VQ30DE Intake Spacer Kit, please contact me so we can discuss possible discounts. You would also need to strictly follow the warmup procedure I provide you with and record over 100 temp readings with a device I can send you. The entire warmup procedure usually takes 45-60 minutes and will have to be performed twice (before and after on the same day). If you think you may be interested in being a guinnea pig, please send an email to [aaron@nwpengineering.com].

That kit has already been released and is available for sale. It's been fully tested and showed temperature decreases of 43 degrees. It also showed a power gain of 8hp and 9ft-lbs of torque in low end and midrange. You can find the dyno chart on the website in the Products Section.
All orders are taken though the website at www.nwpengineering.com.
Thanks.

hi. i noticed that you have recorded temp decreases of 43+ degrees in the intake manifold. i was curious if you have any recorded temps for the combustion chamber?
more than likely i will be getting the spacer kit anyways, but i was wondering if the kit would help keep c.c. temps within a manageable range on a 99 se without EGR. any info would help.
thanks,
chris

Hey Aaron,
Purchased the block plate and IM spacer kit around mid-march. Was wondering if they've been shipped already or if I can get a tracking # or anything? Thanks in advance.
