It's nice that there is plenty of interest. We are looking into ways to reduce the cost of manufacturing the kit without sacrificing quality. The first few kits have been painfully slow. For the best pricing, please email me. Depending on your desired configuration it may cost substantially less than on page 1. I am willing to work with people on a budget.

Would you recommend this turbo kit for 4th generation automatics? I am very interested in the package but my car is an automatic. What steps would I need to take to pervent engine blowout?

Sell your automatic and get a 5spd...you'll enjoy the ride better. THe money you might lose for selling your car (let's say around $200-$500) will cancel out because i think it's like $200-$500 more for an Automatic Turbo kit as well as other upgrades for the engine and trans etc...

Hey Kirk! How's it goin'? I am hoping to do it next week or the week after. My parents are in town right now. I'll probably go down on Wed or Fri. I've been too busy (and lazy) to fix the battery box and cut-off switch.

And if you do it like in a week or two your should have the VI so you could do a run with it on and a run with it off. Anyway I should have the tracking number for the VI for you Nigel tomorrow. That would be great to see the difference with and without the VI. But, it would be even better just to see what your turbo is running...the only thing that stinks is that you have the hefty altitude to deal with. Can't wait to see that time slip though.

So with the turbo and VI and everything, is it possible that Nigel might clinch the title of the "Fastest 4th gen" or maybe even "Fastest Maxima" ??? I heard somewhere that 12.2 is the current fastest Maxima 1/4...true or not?

I think he will get a great time

But, unless the timeslip is corrected for sea level it is going to be relatively high at his current elevation...but nonetheless it will be an impressive and can't wait to see what the turboed Max runs.

Engine Management

Ok so if you guys buy the kit from Nigel and need Engine Management let me know. we finally got it figured out. The only thing we are working on now is controlling the Idle Air Controll with Haltech. please don't ask how we got it to work because the tuner wants to keep that to himself. Man this guy is good, He's only seen my car twice.First time he told me what to do. Second time down he tinkered with it for like 20 mins and Varooooom.

This setup will work for both SpeedPro and Haltech. And will work with Sequential Fire on SpeedPro. Down time would be like 2-3 weeks. no pricing yet because I doubt too many folks will do this anytime soon. but if you're thinking of Boosting high it's the only way to go.

Well Kev

You have been incredibly patient. We have had a lot of teething troubles with getting these kits produced. I really hope this works for you! I'll be going out to China/Taiwan early next month and would like to stop by. Let me know if you are available.

I am sure that you will run into some issues (unfortunately) and I will do my best to help you out.

Not to sound like a complete idiot, but what happens if you have an sc or turbo and you get into an accident etc and your insurance looks at the car? Im just curious if I ever get boost as whether or not to report it to the ins co?

What exactly does this mod do? Is this like a new ECU or an add-on or what? What benefits does it have?

Just have those things added to your insurance. You probably will pay more but it will be covered.

Gauges & Controls for boost

I ordered all of my goodies from Max at German-Autowerks.com. They do in fact have the best prices I was able to find anywhere and I'd suggest considering them if you're getting the turbo. I ordered the following:
A'pexi E.L. series 60mm Boost
A'pexi E.L. series 60mm EGT with sensor
Blitz Dual SBC Spec-R Boost controller
Blitz turbo timer
Fields SFC
A-pillar gauge pod

Total, including shipping, was: $1210

By comparison, Options Auto Salon was $1472 delivered (A'pexi S-AFC-2 vs. Fields for the fuel controller was $25 of the difference). They're worth a call and are very friendly to deal with. You don't have to muck around with a group deal to get group-deal pricing with these guys. Obviously, you can pay a lot less by going with different components than I selected but the better prices remain for all the items I checked.

But thas a good price for all those gauges, i was gonan go the same route with the gauges apexi and blitz turbo controller.

Hey Nigel, if I were to buy a T3/T4 Hybrid Turbonetics Turbocharger or equivavlent T3/T4 Turbocharger, what exact compressor trim and A/R must I get that can match up with your kit? Also, your kit has 2.5" piping, can that be upgraded to 3" so I do not choke over 5000 RPMs? Thanks guy....

12:1 FMU vs. 8:1

Wouldn't an 8:1 be more ideal for this kit. If you're running a 12:1 FMU won't your car be running pretty rich, I thought. The supercharger kits have a 6:1 on them at 6.5 psi of boost, right? I know it's better to be on the safe side but you'd have to be pushing ALOT of air to use a 12:1 effectively. What do you guys think?

i am pretty sure the SC is 8:1 FMU.. he gives you a 12:1 so you run rich.. that way you can tune it and change the disks your self.. wouldnt' make sense to give you a 6:1 that would run lean and blow your motor

Interested in piggy-back Engine Management. Not too familiar with SpeedPro/Haltech.
Specifically to control larger fuel injectors. I have 2 dimensional graph (fuel flow vs boost) of my existing fuel curve. I need to create a 3-D version with fuel, boost & rpms. Let me know if your tuner can do this.

Also, do I have any options other than SpeedPro or Haltech. I would really like to use Greddy E-Manage if possible. Thanks,

Bobby

Hmmm I'm not sure about the Greddy E-Manage. You could also go with Motec but Speedpro should be able to do the same as Motec but for a lot less. Speedpro= btwn 2200 and 2500. I think Motec is in the 4k range.

I'll ask my tuner about the the curve.

Ooops sorry didn't see your post before.

You replace your stock ecu with kind of a blank one. But you're able to set all the settings yourself. You control Fuel/air, timing, fans, and any other gadget you want to control. It depends on the engine management you get. unfortunately the way some folk understand it is using the damn scene from Fast an Furious with the laptop.
Now the down side is you have to rewire your whole freak'n car, well motor wise. And you have to have a tuner that knows how to tune it. That was my mistake, thats why it took so long to complete. definitely not a bolt on.

New Pricing!

Hi all

We have recently looked at costs in the kit and can figured out where we can save money. We can provide a kit to suit customers needs in terms of performance and cost as well as the standard kit. The standard kit price is slightly lower now. Cheaper kits are available to compete with other kits out there. The standard kit is what we recommend since it provides proven performance and we are concerned about the results we would get if we compromised and used other parts. We will cater for the pocket too but cannot guarantee that the performance will be great!

Please email me for more information.

Thanks!
