VI Group Deal (Japan)

:WARNING PRICE MIGHT CHANGE DEPENDING ON EXCHANGE RATE OF WHEN YOU ORDER:

Wanted to give everybody a heads up. Here is how it works. It is $520 for the VI. But, if you pay with Pay Pal you need to include $15 to cover the fee I get charged for accepting because they take like 2.9% out and they said they wouldn't do that if you transferred from a bank acct. but, they did charge it. But, if you send a money order it will be $500 even. So, Right now I'm accepting orders for the VI without the the plastic cover. Also I don't have to wait for a certain ammount of people once you send me the money I get the ball rolling on your order.

This is prices for VIs shipped EMS: 4-7 weeks once I recieve the money

Price for Pay Pal payment: $535
Price for Money order payment: $520

If you want it shipped Sea Frieght: 8-12 weeks once I recive your money

Price for Pay Pal payment: $480
Price for Money order payment: $465

VI with engine cover

Price for Pay Pal Payment: $605
Price for Money Order Paymets: $590

Unfortunately because the VI cover is about $50 the one problem is that this item shipped because it is EMS. Cost another $45 dollars to ship. So, if you order this piece seperately it might be smarter to get some people together to buy several so the shipping doesn't cost so much.

Engine cover for the VI:

Price for Pay Pal: $100
Price for Money Order: $95

Hope that helps, any questions feel free to shoot me an email,

John

Yeah we are looking at $45-$50 roughly + shipping. If there are enough people interested in the piece I might just order a bulk of the covers and send them out. Because shipping on these pieces could cost around $10-25. I should know by tomorrow sometime. And if not I'll be giving him a call to see how much it is.

Can you get the OEM switch? If so, how much?

Thanks,

Exact same thing. IanS, Finality, and myself were 3 of the people that have been looking into it and doing the research on this product. We've been looking into this since late Feburary. I actually got the part list together that Finality used to get his parts. So, I've done a lot of research myself. Installing tomorrow, just waiting for the RPM switch to get here and then doing a Dyno Friday or Saturday. Can't wait to see speedtrips dyno though, but really can't wait to do my own.

Wasn't there some talk about an oem RPM switch already being there? What happened with that? Thanks.

I haven't actually looked into the OEM Switch...because I think it is linked to MAF sensor. But we'll have to see. I'll get some part diagrams and get back to you, see what I can find.

Still researching that. But, if it is there it will most likely only be on the 97-99 models, because that is when they started putting the VI on the Max.

Since John appears to be MIA this afternoon I'll play spokesman The VIs will be sold on a per order basis i.e. no group deal is required. You could save on shipping costs by ordering together though (like I'm doing ). I believe as long as people want VIs and they can continue to be supplied, John will keep selling them. The only holdup that I can see would be if too many people order, parts could get backordered for a while.

Yeah, the only hold up will be if there is more than 20 orders and all that does is prolong the orders by 1-2 weeks at the most.

But, I'm sure you can probalby find an org member that could help you out. If I had to guess. It would probalby cost a place about $200 or so to install. But, that is just a guess. I would say try it your self if you need help ask the org and we could help you out.

To make the VI fully functional you need a vacuum canister, vacuum hose, MAP/Baro switch it allows the vacuum canister to build up pressure and triggers the vacuum canister to open. And then an RPM switch which give the MAP/Baro switch the signal of when to open and when to close.

John, check your email. I sent you one regarding Hype's and my order. We want to get the ball rolling on this one.

Also, an FYI, I checked the specs for the Harlan rpm switch. It's only rated for 0.5A on the signal output. If you hook this signal up directly to the MAP/BARO vacuum solenoid, you might fry the rpm switch...the Dawes solenoid is rated at 1.0A draw, and I imagine any other solenoid switch would be similar. The rpm switch might or might not get fried, but I would strongly recommend the used of a simple relay instead...set up such that the rpm switch triggers the relay to send 12V power to the MAP/BARO solenoid. Just a recommendation, though.

Any way, on to the main point: Check your email! j/k Thanks.

Mr. Cranman, I'll be ordering this from you very shortly. Just have to decide if I want to spend cash now (money order) or wait until my next credit card billing period (2 weeks from now). Either way, it's a definite that I'm getting one.

Hmmm, i wonder if I can hook this up to my Apexi RSM, and run it off the rpm wire. It has a preset kinda deal where I want to have something triggered like a shift light. I have to look into this.

Good thinking. Not knowing specifically how the electronics of this system works, that sounds like something to look into.

It sounds like you should absolutely be able to do that, but I strongly advise that you do not use the signal output itself to power the vacuum solenoid (MAP/BARO switch). Those solenoids draw enough amps that they may fry your expensive RSM. Have the signal trigger a relay to send 12V power to the solenoid.

Had to Edit the post

I got the info back from my supplier, and he informed me that 8KG that he quoted me was wrong for the shipping. That is what Nissan said and he kept it for me. But, the order is approximately 10KG, like 9.6. Anyway, because of that the shipping cost had to increase so therefore the price increased. I apologize for the inconvience to anyone. These are just things I guess you learn along the way. But, this is the set price. And if I can be of any assistance send me an email I'll be glad to see what I can do.

Unfortunately there isn't a way to recieve it quicker. I really wish there was. But the parts are on back order and they take 3-4 weeks to just get the part and then 4 days to ship them. And like 3-5 days for him to recieve the money when I send it.
