Man what's up with all the grave digging on MEVI threads :P There's been more MEVI thread revivals this week than in the last few years combined.

Because I have been drooling over this thing for 3 years now. After 3 years, I am finally ready to buy.

Just doing homework.

I tried emailing and PM'ing Cranman 3 weeks ago. No luck with either.

I'm guilty of grave digging too!!! LOL

It just seems like SO long ago that I installed my VI. It's even longer since I started researching the subject.

What is the going rate for VIs now that all of the early adopters have already purchased/installed theirs?

Mid $300s for the meat and potatoes. And then of course you need the extra stuff like the RPM switch, etc.

Hyp, what do you know about installing the 5th gen VI instead of the MI VI?

I'm not sure if this was answered or not...but what is a VI, and what does it do (gotta learn somewhere...)? If this was already answered just tell me and I'll look through the posts...

It's the middle east variable intake, got an extra chamber and 6 butterfly valve that open at a set rpm.Basicaly act like the VTEC,w/o the ecu upgrade,I wouldn't even put it on the car,you will LOST a **** load of tq and gain top end,I rather get the ecu first if you didn't have the money for both, cause you'll feel the gain with the ecu alone.

I saw a few posts about the 5th gen VI, but I never really took notice since I already had my MEVI. I went with nitrous to complement my VI, but will be selling my NOS 5124 sometime soon. I'll be keeping my Maxima for years to come, but priorities change so I may part a few things out.

I'll say it again, wow you guys dug up a nice old thread.

Never thought I'd say that twice in the same thread! (and I was kind of surprised, as I didn't even remember this thread until I saw that I had posted in it ...)
