The second shipment

Just wanted to let people know that the second shippment will be with my supplier on the 30th he then goes over it to make sure they aren't missing any pieces and then he will most likely be shipping them out on the 31st. I sent an email to everyone whose email address I had, but I think I'm missing one person. Just thought I would give you guys the update. Thanks for your patience in this matter.

I thought these were being shipped as they were ordered, not like a group deal. Or do you mean he was just out of stock? Does he have enough in this shipment to cover all the orders? How long from when he ships them, is that the 4-7 weeks?

I have the money now but I just bought a house. I won't be closing to near the end of Aug. I would love to get my order in now, but I am not sure where I will be and if the closing falls through for some reason it woud be a major headache to find my VI, I think. Maybe I will see if I can get it shipped to a friends house.

From the 4th Gen FAQ
Variable Intake Manifold (AKA - MEVI or VI) - This is the newest Mod discovered for the fourth Gen Maxima, it is a stock part on Maximas made for the Middle East (hence MEVI). There is a modest HP gain with this (about 10hp) but more importantly it allows the Maxima to make peak power alll the way to redline. There are a ton of threads on this, search.
And that question was already answered on page two of this thread

Yeah they are shipped from my supplier

It isn't really a group deal. Just have several orders that come in at the same time, so send them out together to my supplier. It takes about generally 4-5 weeks from when I get the payment to get the parts to you. They are shipped from my supplier and come in about 3-5 days after he sends them and they are shipped directly to your address.

I hope I'm still on your list because I ordered back in mid-May. I'm trying to wait patiently. Currently 9 weeks and counting I haven't recieved your July 27th e-mail either.

Yes you are on that list

I apologize for the inconvience, and I thank you for your patience. But here is the reason for the delay

Dear John

GOOD NEWS! Mystery was solved!
The manager called me this evening, and he notified that the parts being delayed will be delivered to us next Tuesday. (30th) The person in charge hadn't forgotten our order. Originally, the parts should have been delivered to us 17th this month as informed to you in the beginning, but a manufacturer of the parts had suffered from small damages of a Typhoon, and the damages caused the delay. The person in charge notified us the delay of delivery by fax, and then he went to holidays. We actually received an incomplete fax from an unknown guy, but we couldn't understand that it was from him. It caused troubles in this time. We are very sorry for your inconvenience.
We will ship the parts once they were delivered, but it will be done on 31st since we have to inspect/pack them after the delivery. Anyway, we will do our best for quick shipment.

Thanks and regards

Just to let the people know who ordered. I will be sending emails with the tracking number most likely on the 31st of this month.

The VI can work with the Automatice with no problems. VI would be cheaper than the 5spd swap, but VI gives you a wider power band. But most likely either of these mods would take about .3-.7 seconds off your 1/4 mile.

There really isn't a deal. It is just when your ready to order the VI you just let me know and send me the payment and I will order it for you. The only thing is the price might be higher because of the exchange rate. Just so your aware. But if you have any questions feel free to email me and I'll be glad to answer them for you

The total now with the exchange rate what it is at currently is 550 if you pay with check or MO...and that includes all the parts for the VI, but you need to purchase a RPM switch and DAWES Device and vacuum canister. If you want to pay pal the money it is 2.9% more. This is shipped EMS and is insured so only takes about 3-5 days to ship once my contact gets the parts in. Which normally takes about 3-5 weeks from when I get him the order. If you have any other questions feel free to email me at Cranfillj@aol.com

Yep the covers are still available. At the current exchange rate it is $110 dollars to have it shipped to your address. It is only an extra $75 if your having it shipped with a VI at the current exchange rate. Hopefully the US dollar will be worth something to drop the price but it seems with the economy the way it is right now that it is taking a toll on what our foriegn exchange rate is worth.

I'm glad that is one and working. Can't wait till you get the whole vacuum system up and working so you can feel the full effect.
Have fun

Yours is coming in around the mid-late August the tenative date right now is August 26th but hopefully earlier. Sorry about that, but those orders that came in were ordered in Early June. And because of the typhoon that hit the factory caused them to be delayed til July.

Unfortunately there isn't...hopefully in the future there will be but my supplier hasn't had a big enough of a demand to keep these in stock. Hopefully if there are a few more orders in the future he will be able to keep them in stock and then they would be to you in a week or so. But currently it is about 4-6 weeks...depending on when he gets the orders.

Just email me and I'll be glad to send you the details. At the current time with the exchange rate your looking at about 550 for the VI and about 620 for the VI and cover. But that is the MO and check price the paypal is 2.9% more because that is what they charge. It might be a liittle less just for the fact that the exchange rate is doing better.

I might be interested in this too. I'm not ready to install it, but I think by the time I receive the VI, it should be about right since there is a wait. I don't mind.

So it comes with almost everything needed to install right? I heard you need to buy a few items separately. Difficult to locate the extra items?

When you interested in buying one just tell me and I will order it. He already locked me in at 8% commission because of how many I've bought with the first deal. Instead of 12.5%, so there isn't any difference in ordering one or more. Hope that helps.

The things you need to purchase are. A vacuum canister, vacuum hose, and some "T's" which you can buy at NAPA(~$20). The RPM switch (~$50) and the Dawes Device(~$35)...or Map/baro switch off a 3rd gen max or pulsar/NX. You can get it from a junkyard for about 2.50-35 dollars depending on the junk yard. You might need a throttle body gasket, but I just reused mine because I was to lazy to go out and get one. =) Other than that your set.

Re: Yes...

John,

I have read lots on this mod and would be very interested... however...

I do not know enough about engines to do this myself and would not be comfortable having my mechanic install it. Can you recommend someone in the North East (I'm in NJ) who would be capable of installing it?

Thanks,

Jeff

I don't know anyone off the top of my head. I can see if one of the guys that bought from me that is in the area would be interested in helping you out. But, I'm over here in the Rockie Mtn. area...NM to be exact, so I don't know of anyone in the area. But, I'll contact a few of the people that purchased it from me to see if they would be willing to help with the install...but they might charge you a small fee. =)

Sounds good, I appreciate your help. I figured some sort of compensation would be involved... whether it be monetary, alcoholic, etc.

As long as I don't have to do it, because my mechanical feats thus far have been:
1. Change oil. cool.
2. Change fuel filter. oops. gas everywhere.
3. Install system. drill through firewall into gas line.
Fortunately it was a return line so I still have all my digits (and my Max).

what does the vi dyno test at? what would the total price of the mod come out too? would this vi take a second of the 1/4 mile time?
