I'm seeing the molder today... gona see some prototypes and his production Sentra hoods- We've been having some problems with getting a stock hood because he said he had one but it actually was from a 5th gen so I'm trying to get one for cheap

I wont give any guarantees or a date they'll come out with because... yea this is taking too long

thanks for waiting! I know waiting blows *****!

I'll also post pics if I can today ok?

sorry for the fuzzy pics... haha

let me know what you think so far

our vent wont have the center thingie in it

we're running into problems with clearence of the engine, we dont want to place the vent right over the engine block (which is pretty close to the front of the hood)

Shiet if they dont make one for the 3rd gen I am going to buy a 4th gen hood and fit it myself. How much would they do a 3rd gen hood for?

if you wait you can get one for the same price as we are getting 400-500 depends on how many buyers

I already talked to them about it, they already have a 5th gen hood waiting and a 3rd gen we can arrange too

its just a question of time... the Sentra guy prototyping the hood said he told the molder of one defect (the weave got slightly looser in one spot) the molder took the hood back and made another one... so it will take time but the molder will put out good work

how susceptible are cf hoods to dents and cracking? ie rocks/pebbles from highway speeds? i am thinking of getting a cf hood to replace my disgustingly dented hood, but if itll just get dented up again, theres no point for me.

also, whatever happened to custommaxima's $250 hood?

I had a Carbon Fiber hood for hmmm like 10 monthes or so? and I recieved two decent hits from rocks (visible ones) it shows up as a tiny star in the clear coat not very noticeable and if you want you can always reclear coat the hood

another oprion is to get a 3M clear bra as soon as you get the hood to protect it but CF stood up really well for the 10 months/20,ooo miles that I had it for

and it doesnt get dented you push it in, it pops back out haha and it doesnt crack or anything its sweet stuff

and custommaximas $250 hood? dude even if he did come out with it I wouldnt wana buy it, 250 will get you a fiberglass hood layered with carbon fiber, or some other cheap crap, even if it was a real hood "from one of the largest CF hood manufacturers" or whatever he said- have you guys seen the majority of hoods out there? they are absolute crap! The best hoods I see are from smaller molders and smaller companies.... the ones who take the time to ensure they put a good product out...

from reading the thread, i got the impression that the GD is for a CF hood with some kind of hood scoop. will there be a plain version?

Still no response????????? Is this going to be like the type-s kits. Everytime I try to contact them, I can't. Also it took it forever to come out. Also people keep changing the prices. Which sucks!!!!! So what is going on wit the hoods?>?>

Still got our hoods in development. We have a few prototype pictures but will wait further down the line before we post them. Would rather not be bombarded any further with questions about the hood. I'll keep you posted.

We don't need it if the Carbon Fiber is strong. It semms like this hood you making is flimsy ( reason to have center support)

well the molder said he would prefer it there and I kinda dont want it but I dont want to pressure him into doing something he isnt comfortable with, the hood is supposed to be designed so we dont have to use hood pins, and he says it would be best to keep the center support if we want it strong enough to use without hoodpins

lagging... thats whats up

it takes forever for them to agree on what they can do wat vents, what clears and all this... and if I take the jump right now tis hoods gonna cost me over 800 bucks... trying to figure out some deal with them to lower the price for me without making you guys pay before seeing a finished product... not easy

andone has a stock hood for CHEAP?

Was that car with the vented hood a race maxima? It had a removable steering wheel and role cage
Also does this company make those widened fenders that the car has?

Got 300 Carbon Fiber hoods for 95-99 and 2000-2003 Maximas on the way. Just FYI we have about 200 Altima Carbon Fiber Hoods on the way too. Should have them the beginning of January. We will have pics posted in a few days.

Well in order for the manufacturer to even create the mold we need to purchase 200 hoods up front. Honestly it is going to be tough to sell 200 hoods for the 3rd gen maximas. Even if we could sell that many it would take many months, and sitting on that kind of inventory is expensive.
