How do you get to foglights???

I was going to rewire my foglights today, and I couldnt figure out how to get to them. Do I have to remove the whole bumper to get to them? Or is there a panel or something I can remove to access them.

I just had to change one of the bulbs the other day. You do not have to remove the bumper!!
It requries removing part of the undercarriage plastic. The part farthest to each side. The bulbs them selves are a pain in the *** to take out and put back in. They have wire pin type fasteners. It's kinda hard to explain.

I believe the instructions I read were in the owners manual.

all you need is a ratchet with an 8mm head i think. you unscrew the clearance light first, then you can unscrew the foglight. It took me a little bit to figure out, but it's extremely easy. What exactly are you going to do anyways???

Brian,

You just need to get to the wire harness behind the light right. Not take out the assembly? Because what I said will just get you to the wire harness and bulb.

While your in there...

Want brighter fogs?? Remove the metal shielding piece (located in front of the bulb, looks like a hat or umbrella) By using needle nose pliers and bending/breaking the part out of the lense. It takes some time and cursing, but it is well worth it. Good luck!

i took my clearance light off today, but then I had a hard time putting it back on...the metal piece where you bolt the clearance light into was not lined up properly...for now I just taped it on. Does that mean my car has been in a minor fender bender? How do I get it lined up correctly...any help would be appreciated...i spent about an hour cursing and trying to bend that metal piece to line it up...as of now...it's taped on...thanks ahead of time...

Does this work with the I30t model, because I am not seeing anything that will give me access to the fog lamps

The most difficult time I had was getting the fog light seated properly back in proper place. It is really an awkward position to try properly seat the harness and fit the clamp over the bulb. I jacked up the car about 8 inches and could still barely get to it.
