Keyless Entry problems
Keyless Entry problems
I just went and had my windows tinted and when I got home from doing that I noticed that my keyless entry no longer works. (HUH? Exactly, what im thinking since he worked on the windows)
Anyone know which fuse belongs to it? I looked at the little fuse panel and none of them specified for the keyless entry. I tried my spare remote thingie and that didnt work either so I know it's not the battery.
Anyone have any ideas if it's not the fuse?
98 I30 btw.

The reason I ask, is that in some cars, the keyless receiver is under the rear window, and it's not uncommon for the keyless range to go down if window tint with a heavy metallic content is applied.
It's just a possibility...if it doesn't work at all, then the tint isn't the reason. Also, I don't know where the keyless receiver is in the I30. I just know from prior car experience.
Hmm.. I never thought about the metallic tint affecting the keyless remote. I got metallic tint at 6% but I just tried to lock/open the car with the keyless remote from inside the car pointing it in every direction possible and still no luck.
Makes sense though cause I know the metallic tint affects radio antennas/reception when the antenna is mounted on the rear winshield. Doesn't seem to be that though cause I tried from in the car but what else could it be? I mean he only tinted the window. Could it be possible that the tint 'unprogrammed' the remote?
I found a guide for reprogramming a 95 Maxima keyless remote but have no idea if the guide applies to a 98 I30

I believe the reciever for the keyless entry is in the trunk.
