Bulb Sizes??

I wonder if we can get a list of ALL the bulb sizes in here? I looked through the manual, and well all the bulb sizes and numbers are weird. I know the high beam is 9005, low beam is D2R (hid), or 9006. That's about it that i know right now. If someone can either add this info to the faq, or post it, i would most appreciate it. I also would like to know what are your opinions on the different bulbs. I had 2 pairs of Optix headlights, the brightest that I have ever tried, because they ran 80/100w for 9006/9005, and had that hyperwhite appearance. I'm looking at some ION Piaa's for the fogs in my car, I t hink they're H3 right?

anyways, thanks!

what do u drive? an I30 i'm assuming. if that's what u got the stock headlights are 9004 bulbs not 9005 or 9006. the piaa ions for ur fogs are H3 bulbs. you also have 1156 and 1157 bulbs for the side markers, turn signals and the stoplights in the back. wedge bulbs for everything else

dude I put in 9005 already, and the lowbeam is 9006/D2R because it is HID. Its not one beam, its 2 beams if you look at the 2001+ i30.

That would be correct. Fog lamps are H3, high beams are 9005, low beams are D2R (or 9006 if you don't have HID). The rear turn signals are 1156 and front are 1157 (same for 2001, '02 & '03 I'm almost certain!)... The only amber bulbs I haven't been able to find a silvered replacement for are the little parking lights that sit inside right by the high-beams.

Sorry - been out of town. Yes, the small bulbs inside the high-beam wells (parking lights) are 194 bulbs.

Ok, those are wedge bulbs, very popular and what not.
Tell me, however, what exactly is the purpose of those 'parking lights'? They come on at night, but what purpose do they serve?

They are the only lights that come on in the front of the vehicle if you manually set the lights to "Park" (as opposed to "On" or "Auto")...

If you do the "Fog Mod" (where you splice a wire and tape off another) to give yourself the ability to have the fog lights on without the headlights, they still only work if you at least turn the light control lever to "Park". (and thus are on, along with your tail-lights as would be in a night situation - everything but headlights).

has anyone fooled around with the new LED light bulbs for the taillights and turn signals? would they work like a normal light bulb or would they screw up the whole system? just wondering

I just ordred 2 leds 194 sytle blue for my I30t... I'm going for the 'city lights' or 'glowing headlight' appearance.. I want the reflectors to glow blue when i turn the parking lights on.. I think it'd look awesome if the angle of the light beam is right. I got inverted lenses so it spreads the light out instead of beaming it straight forward.. When I get them installed I'll post some pics

Well somehow I was awake enough at 6:30, to open the hood and install the leds into my city running lights, and tried them out this morning... Here is what they look like, as i took them at about 10:30pm tonight outside of work....

can i see what your lights look like with the headlights on? does the blue still show through?

i have a set of PIAA LED wedge bulbs super blue, and HID's so i was wondering if it would make my HIDs look more blue

also does anyone know of a local place in the bay area where i can get LED wedge bulbs that are Red and Orange color?

i tried to change the bulbs in the rear turn signals, but aftermarket bulbs won't fit. the studs at the bottom of the bulb are different on the factory bulb. anybody know why?

Thats tyte. I see where the park lights color vanished when you turned on the HID's. Most times that happens because HID's burn hotter that halogen bulbs. Thats probably the reason the color in your park lights go away when you have the HID's on. If you don't mind me asking, how much were your park lamps and what make were they?

I forgot the make. They're just 194 bulbs off ebay, nothing special. I'm sure there are brighter ones, which I wanna try sometime. Had so many people staring my way last night when I drove to walmart with them on.... They look like blue demon eyes considering their shade and intensity.... $10 is all they cost..which is actually a lot considering what they are...but ah well... I like em.. I wanna try red next hehe...real demon eyes.
