So after going to sleep at 3:30am this morning, chatting with a girl, being her friend cuz she's having problems in life.. I expected to sleep until 11am then get up and go to school.. That's about 7 hrs. Yeah that didn't happen. 7:00 am rolls around and my brother walks into my room telling me he missed his bus, and that I have to take him. I tell him to leave me alone for 20min and I'll take him.... I REALLY didn't want to drive with 3.5hrs of sleep. So yeah my dad comes in well before the 20 minutes is up, and forces me out of bed. I'm so wanting to just sleep... Jeebus. I go out, without even shoes on, and drive my brother to school. On the way in I slow to the 25mph school zone, and drop him off. So on the way out I turn right, and its 200ft from the exit to the end of the school zone. I forget, with my lack of sleep and not seeing the flashing lights, since I was in between them, with them facing both away from me... and I speed up a little bit. Right as I hit about 30-35mph, I see the 'End School Zone' sign and am like oops... So I hit the brakes to slow down as I approach it, and just as I do, I see flashing lights from the cop who was sitting in the median waiting.... Sigh. 35 in a 25 school zone... Court date 1-6-04. Man I can understand if I was on the highway speeding intentionally or something..where I KNOW im going over, but this time it was purely an accident. I forgot, I was sleepy.. I just wanted to be in bed... I don't know what to do, my parents are going to take my I30t away I swear. This can't be good for insurance... I panicked totally... I still am. This is my first ticket, and I just wanted to be in bed. I wasn't barely going 10 over ... And I corrected myself when I saw the sign, because I forgot for a moment with the lack of the flashing lights. Why couldn't have my brother NOT missed his bus this morning? Any suggestions as what to do guys?

ive got over 12 tickets in the past year including a dwi that i got while driving a girl back to her room on a cold night just 500 meters across my school campus dont worry be happy that u still have your license 1 ticket isnt nuthin, youll get more eventually

I would think any understanding parents would not take your car. Your bound to get a ticket sooner or later. Don't know if you have an income or not, but I would suggest taking responsibility and paying the ticket and any increase in insurance costs. Me and Edmond cops never got along. That is one town you don't want to speed in.

Go to court and try going to traffic school. This may keep the ticket/points off of your license. Although you may have to pay court costs and a class fee. That is the way it is here in my part of Alabama. Not sure if this is an option since the offence took place in a school zone, but it is worth looking into.

I went to traffic school before I went to court and the judge through my first ticket out. Since this is your first ticket you might get off. I got really lucky. The first four speeding tickets I got were dismissed because I had no prior offenses. Just go to traffic court and it'll probably wouldn't hurt to bring your parents with you if you are less than 21 years old. Good luck!

3.5 hours isnt bad im pretty much an insomniac here. for example... right now i havent slept for 3 nights.
