If its the same as mine you press both lock and unlock for 2sec. Did you look on the back of the remote?

......OK. What I meant is when you press "lock" on remote the only confirmation you getting from the car is parking lights blinking twice. Is there any way to make it "sound" confirmation?

That is exactly what I was telling you how to do.

On my car, to switch between a sounded confirmation and silent, you press both "lock" and "unlock" at the same time, and hold for 2sec (or the remote).

You should also look on the back of your remote to see if there are instructions.

Only for 2nd gen i30s. For first gen's goto vqpower.com and the howto section... you might not actually need a relay, you just have to tap into the power wire that actually goes hot when you arm it...get a meter. Attach a siren or a piezo which can be purchased for cheap at Radio Shack. It's relatively simple, but I'm also a car audio installer for circuit city.. Make sure you try to put it somewhere on the outside though, unlike me who decided to put it inside..great mod imo.

The remote doesn't say anything on the back ... even i have 1998 I30 (assuming the initiator too has 98 i30), and i tried doing like newlove said but it didn't work.

98i30,

Not sure where you are in Chicago, let me know if you need assistance with this. I added a 120db siren to my relay.

Sorry for the confusion. I guess only the A33s have the sound confirmation.

I thought it was worth a shot though, since you had no replys yet.
