96 ECU question

96 ECU question
My insightful mind needs enlightening, has anyone put the 95-96 ECU into a 98 car? I've read in some posts that you get a permanent check light, but other than that, is there any beefs? Like with the Homelink system, heated seats, or anything else? I wouldn't think so, but I couldn't find the information anywhere on if theres anyone that has done this before, just people talking about doing it.
I've got a guy in Dallas trying to find me one from a 96 I30t (trying to match all that I can), was gonna send off to JWT, figured I'd actually be able to comment on any problems I had with this switch probably around 2006, since JWT is rediculously slow

Things like heated seats and homelink have nothing to do with the ECU.
You most definately can use a 96 ECU in your 98, you *might* get a CEL. Some guys do some guys don't. Just make sure it's for the same type tranny. I have use a 98 auto max ECU in my 96 5spd I30 with no problems except some CEL's. You might want to try looking for a max ECU since it will be easier to find.
