Aftermarket HID install

Hi, my cuzin has stock headlights on his 99 i30 and we installed an aftermarket hid kit. The kit used a postive n negative wire but the bulb has three slots. I only used to wires. So would this casue the auto feature not to work.

Do i have to run the third wire on the old plug to the new plug setup.

Sounds like you have a High/Low Beam setup. One prong is for Negative, other for HIGH beam, and third is for LOW Beam.
