Braking Noise 2001 I30T??

I bought a used 2001 I30T Pre-Certified (34,209 miles, carfax-ed was good) from the Infiniti dealer two weeks ago. There was some rattling/knocking/noise in the rear of the car when applying brakes. The salesman assured me that it was merely the rust on the rotors and it would be shaved off and taken care of by the time I picked the car up.

I picked the car up, drive out and there is still the noise when I brake. I made an appointment for service, dropped car off, and picked car up. The service people said they resurfaced the brake pads and tightened a brake cable.

I drive out, still the noise. The braking power and feel is very good. It's just that there is this rattling, thumping, knocking kind of noise in the rear brakes when I brake. I checked alldata.com there is a service bulletin lableled "JAN 02 Brake Caliper (Rear) - Clunk/Rattle/Knocking Noise."

What do I do with this information, show the dealer? Also anyone else have this problem? I tried to search on this forum, but it won't let me search.

If you would like the dealer to perform the brake repair under warranty I suggest finding out exactly what the TSB says before you go to the dealer. 5th Gen. Forum might have the info in some of the stickies there. IMO subscribing alldata.com for your vehicle is worth $25. I looked at the list of TSB for my I30 (2000) but coundn't find the one you found, just brake judder issue for 2000.

I recently went to an Infiniti dealer to fix an ECU-related MIL problem I've been experiencing ever since I bought one in last September. I had no choice since this involves ECU reprogramming. I was fully aware that what the code was, and I knew my problem should be fixed under warranty, but I wasn't sure how they react. Fortunately the dealer diagnosed correctly and fixed it under warranty, thus no charge.
