flip up dash.

Optional on I35 is the power-operated dash-mounted flip-up Infiniti Navigation System. This navigation system includes the three-dimensional Birdview™ map display, which features an easy-to-read rolling display of roads, buildings and other points of interest, in addition to the traditional intersection/ flat plane map images. A voice guidance system provides directions throughout the driver’s journey, lowering radio volume when directions are spoken.

----

Anyone know where to get the parts for the "power-operated dash-mounted flip-up" alone without the nav system?

You can get the parts sans actual nav system from the dealer...but it still costs an arm and a leg.

Yeah like in the ball park of $2000. I don't understand why no one has designed anything similar so people w\o the navi package could make use of the space in the dash

where do the dealers get the parts from? I've been looking at all of the infiniti parts web sites and found none close to answer this.

Meta,
You didn't put an aftermarket head unit in? I am considering it, but don't want the dash to be jacked up. Want a clean match.

Nah, I'm still running the OE In dash 6 disc. I bought a Maxima dash kit in the past, only to find that it isn't wide enough to fit the gap. I sold it, and have since bought a new one. I've got a friend who's going to try to fiberglass it out wide enough to look at home in the dash. Then I'll take it somewhere and have it paint-matched.

Best way to do it - use the PAC AOEM-NIS2.

Plugs in between your wiring harness and the back of the OEM HU. Gives you a front pair of RCAs, a rear pair of RCAs, and a remote wire.

www.affsave.com is where I've always purchased my PAC gear from.
