Greddy Exhaust Questions

Does anyone know if 98-99 Greddy for I30 (97-99 Maxima) will fit 96-97 I30 (95-96 Maxima)???? What was different? The O2 Sensor in the B-pipe or the Muffler pipe?

Thanks

SY

There is only one greddy made right now. It's the SP2 and it will fit a 96-99 I30. The only thing at all different between the model year is the rear o2 sensor location. The o2 sensor on the 96 is on the cat and the o2 sesnor of the 97-99 is on the B-pipe. Greddy lists the application for the sp2 to fit 95-96 maxima....but thier application is kinda wrong. For one the exhaust will fit any 95-99 maxima and any 96-99 I30. The only thing is the o2 sesnor location, and since they list the sp2 as a 95-96 model you would think there would be no spot for the 02 sesnor since the 95-96 maxima has the o2 sensor on the cat not the b-pipe. But there is indeed a 02 sesnor bung on the b-pipe. Although it looks to big for our o2 sensors.

So if you have your 02 sensor on the cat (96 I30) all you have to do is plug up the hole on the SP2 b-pipe. And if you have your o2 sesnor on the b-pipe (97-99 I30) you may have to get the correct size bung welded on to the b-pipe if your o2 sensor won't fit in the hole provided.

Greddy just has their application messed up, but either way the exhuaust fits great on any 96-99 I30.....and at the very most you may have to get the correct size 02 bung weled on.

The exhuast fits very well. Only thing I had to do was remove the 12" bracket that goes under the b-pipe right after the resonator. The b-pipe would bang against it on large bumps. The bracket serves no real purpose, I think it might be there incase the stock exhaust fell off for some reason.

Pics of mine I recently installed.

Well, I have cattman headers along with the SP2 catback. So it is not exactly quiet. Combined with the headers it is about as good an exhaust tone as your gonna get from our motor. It's really deep, but it doesn't drone

So the Greddy SP2 will fit a 97-99 Maxima and sit perfectly flush with the bumper like yours, Mike? It looks fantastic. How much did it cost to have the bung for the O2 welded in?
