Looks like you got a bad reading in one of your sensors, unless you get an ODBCII decoder, you won't know what it is, and even if you do get one it doesn't guarantee that it will tell you anything specific, such is my case.

The computer is saying that Bank 1 is running lean. I talked to my uncle who works for firestone and he says it could be multiple things so just reset it and see if it comes back frequently, seems like whatever part is failing is giving off a error some of the time, not all the time. ie O2 sensor.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. PLEASE.

Carlos.

Get the OEM replacement type. They just plug in, the other type has to be spliced.

Even I got the SES light on yestday Gotta goto Autozone to check the codes ... everything runs and feels great, don't know what's wrong ... even my mileage is okk, recently got 24.8 on complete highway ... so i guess it's not the O2 sensor .. or I maybe wrong!!!

What the HELL is up with every one going to autozone for the codes?!? They are perfectly retreivable using a flathead in a couple of minutes! Save your self the trip.

Well, I tried to pull the codes with flathead but it gave 0412 code which is Undefined!!! ya, four long pulses and 12 short pulses, I counted them 6 or 7 times ... But the SES light is still on this morning! And worse is the fact that it stalled when I started it this morning. Then I had to crank it real hard pressing the gas pedal and it finally started.

hi there,

i just obdii scanned it at autozone and it said O2 sensor Bank1 Sensor1. I'm sorry but I'm not sure if there are 2 sensors before the cat. Does it mean only the first sensor need to be replaced or both ... thanks guys

EDIT:

Also wanna know what bad happens with bad O2 sensor

Well, if they are giving a false "too lean" signal, the injectors will begin to put more fuel into the mixture to correct this resulting in a rich A/F ratio, which will give you sh!tty fuel economy and mega power loss. If they are giving a false "too rich" signal, the injectors will begin to put less fuel into the mixture to correct this, which will result a lean A/F ratio and possible engine damage.

Just replace all three and you won't have to worry about it for another 75K.

One last question, there are two brands of OEM type in oxygensensors.com, which one is preferred: Denso or Walker ???

Actually, almost two months ago, the heat shield over the cat came off and I didn't get it fixed. I guess the O2 sensor is right near that cat, and sthg must have hit the O2 sensor. Pothole roads all around. I don't want to pay taxes for such shytty roads ;-)
