Adding floor lighting
Adding floor lighting
Well, that's it, I'm tired of not having floor lighting when I open the doors like in my buick, so, I've purchased a set of White 12" CCFL tubes with single ballast, like what would be used to light a windowed computer case and I'll be installing them under the dash to illuminate the floor area and hooking them up to the interior lights. When I get the lights and get it installed, I'll post some pics, do the writeup, etc.
I installed 4 pairs of the tubes (blue) you describe in my old Wrangler. Only problem I had with them is the cold. If it was really cold they would take a while to light up. I also had 3 of the 4 fail on me. Seems like they were sensitive to the bumpy ride.
Sorry about the delay guys, I just haven't had a lot of time lately, but I do have a voltage regulator, to help with transients, and I'll be using CCFL (cold cathodes) instead of neons, a dual tube kit meant for computer modding, reason is they last longer, are cheaper and are a bit more resilient to cold than standard neon tubes.
