Question about the sub in a 2000

Has anyone found a direct replacent that's aftermarket?
Has anyone found a comporable replacement that's aftermarket?
Basically I'm weighing my audio options. I'm pretty sure if I go with a sub upgrade it'll drown out my stock f/r speakers so I'm not sure that's all I do, but I want to know if it's possible to use the stock location on the rear deck just so I know my options. Thanks in advance for the help.

There's not really a direct replacement for that sub, the size is odd a lil over 8 inches and the sub has to be a free air. If your going to use the stock headunit then you might want to do what's posted above.

there is a possible option for you if you dont want to replace anything. You might have to do minor mods to get it to fit but if you read the manual it will do free air but half the power. It is a 200rms 800max sub but if u do free air it only need 100watts rms. Not sure of the power output of the stock amp. This is probably the cheapest since pretty much any other sub you want to get u need to get an amp unless you get the basslink which is sub amp combo. It supports line level inputs i think (not sure) but your still better off w/ a pac converter.

Well I already have an amp. I was just wondering had anyone done a direct replacement of the stock sub just for the stock look. If there was already a free air sub that I could drop in I'd at least like to know the option before I go ahead with other plans. By you guys responses it seems there isn't one.
Thanks for the tips guys!

When I first got my car a couple years ago I removed that stock 8" sub and replaced it with a Kicker free-air 8" sub. Can't remember the model. It didn't sound bad...it actually sounded better than the bose sub. Some more bass, not much, and less rattles. I got fed up with eventually though and tossed it. Now have a custom setup in the trunk with that sub spot in the deck open as a port into the cabin. Much happier now.

But simply put, a free-air 8" will work. I even managed to get mine in and out without removing the rear deck. Just be creative

Isn't the amp a 1ohm for the sub as well as the other speakers? Can't be good.
