The extra hazard button could be your secret push button start ![Big Grin](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Im just going to assume that anyone with navigation is simply screwed if they want to go with an aftermarket headunit? (If that's the case, this will be my 3rd car in a row with the Mission Impossible aftermarket headunit syndrome.)

You could have a custom trim piece made and put a single DIN HU below the nav controls in the dash. But then I'm not entirely sure how you'd get the audio from the OEM navigation back into the stereo system. It may be as simple as hooking up an additional speaker just for the navigation, or [likely] could be a lot more involved.
Of course, if you were willing to forgo the OEM navigation entirely, it would be pretty easy to put in an aftermarket HU. You could probably even get creative with the wiring on the screen and use it to display your own video source.

I dont find this topic hilarious, it makes me cry everyday I look at the gaps in the Metra kit I installed. The OEM kit for the Cefiro are fine, except they are big $$$. There are a few ways to go about making a custom kit and this is obviously still something people are looking for.

Here are some pics of the gaps using the Metra kit in my I35...

Admittedly I could probably cover the gaps with some plastic or something, but I still think a custom bezel is in my future. I might experiment with Aluminum or Fiberglass.
