Phillips VisionPlus

i was reading about these bulbs today and was wondering if anyone has any opinions? i'm currently using the silverstars; will i notice any difference? also, do they sell the visionplus at retail stores or are they only available online?

also, this might be a stupid question but it's been bugging me for a while. why do people make a big deal about changing the bulbs in their high beam? shouldn't the replacement of low beams be enough?
in all my years of driving, i've only used my high beam once.

I am also using Silverstars right now, but I just recently purchased MTEC bulbs (rated at 4,750K) They should be arriving this next week. I will let you know if they are any better than Silverstars.

Most likely, they aren't available in stores because alot of aftermarket "colored" bulbs arent street legal(even though I've ran illegal pairs for 1-2 years and never gotten a ticket)

And about the high Beam, it's just a personal preference thing. If you live in the country like me, when a car comes over the hill at night, he sees my intensely white/blue high beams (PIAA bulbs), then when I dim my headlights, he sees the pretty normal look of my low beams(silverstars). (not to mention my ugly stock-colored fogs) I just like all my lights to match, so I've ordered all new bulbs (9005's, 9006's, and H3's) I'm trying to find the turning lamp bulbs to match, but no success so far.

Here's a link I found about the bulbs I ordered. It's from a forum for bikes, but it has side-by-side comparisons that havent been photoshopped or anything.

The reason the stock bulb looks brighter is because thats the HIGh beam, whereas the colored bulb is in the LOW beam.

Here's the one from the guy's Prelude. Bulb on right is stock.

This topic has been discussed more times then ron jeremy has been in a porno. Anyway, if you want the best illumination on the road, the Sylvania XtraVisions is the way to go. I believe VisionPlus is Philip's product to compete with Sylvania. Any bulb with any sort of coating on it has shown to decrease visibility, especially any bulb with the heavy blue tint to make them seem like HIDs, they simply don't illuminate crap in the rain, and they usually burn-out faster.

true, one of my silverstars went just the other day, after only 10k, so I popped in my stockers that have 170K on them.

How long have you had the sliverstars? I went through 2 sets of headlights and foglights in 8 months.

Per Sylvania, SilverStar is their best ~4000K. The XtraVisions are ~3200K.

I have been running Silver Stars for over a year with no problem, but I dont think they look very white. Those MTECs look good. I'll probably try those if my Silver Stars ever burn out.
