Maxima v I30 transmission question

I have done some searching and haven't found the info I am looking for. Maybe it is in a different section than I am looking in or I need to adjust my key words.

I am not great with auto transmissions

On b13 Nissans on the manual side of things there is a LSD and a non-LSD transmission

But they are interchangeable.

You have to replace an axle for the different spline length but that is it.

I confirmed that there are non-LDS transmissions for the Maxima and a LSD for the I30 from this thread
http://forums.maxima.org/infiniti-i3...-info-fyi.html

But that is about all.

Is it the same on the autos on this? Can I grab a Maxima auto and swap it out?

Or will it not even bolt up/different sensors/etc?

I am not sure what is wrong/not wrong with the tranny in mine I just picked up

It shows you shift on the cluster and it feels like it is but the transmission does nothing. no movement. no little bump to indicate it tries to change gear no matter what you select.

Also a constant whine seems to be coming from the transmission area.

I am going to order up an OBD2 to USB cable to hook it up to my notebook and see if it is throwing any codes.

Again sorry if this is answered somewhere but I can't seem to find it.
Thanks in advance!
