purchased car used, clock light was never on. changed with oem light bulbs. it lit up for about an hour and then they blew. what do you think could be wrong? it isnt the lightbulbs cause i changed them.

There are 3 things that will cause a light bulb to burn out early.

1 - light bulb is defective
2 - voltage to the light bulb is higher than it was designed for
3 - light bulb environment is too harsh, ie, too hot, too cold, shocks, vibration.

My bet is on # 1

 

to be honest, those clocks are worthless at night, even with the light on, I cant see jack in them, its basically for decoration lol

 

switch to led.. found an old pic of mine with led's
