1999 Infiniti i30 Climate control
Hey found alot of useful information on this forum so I decided to make an account to ask other maxima drivers for some advise.
Awhile back I got some work done on the AC system of my 1999 infiniti i30 and got the compressor replaced, mode door actuator replaced and blower replaced and everything heat/cold ac worked fine. Later down the line my alternator was dying and me and my dad replaced the alternator, but to do that you have to unmount the ac compressor and set on something out of the way to access the alternator. We were gentle with it, but i found that after the fix my a/c no longer blew cold, and I was afraid that we damaged the compressor or something like that. But it appears the a/c and heat do not work, it just blows air whatever temperature it is outside, If i turn it to heat, it doesn't warm, if i turn it to cold, I hear the compressor kick on but the air does not become cold. The fan speeds and direction work fine. Has anyone had this problem? Thank you for any information, and I will be happy to provide photos or additional information if anyone needs

If the a/c compressor is actually turning, then you probably have an unfortunately timed failure of some other part.
What I suggest you do is run the built-in self diagnostic on the auto climate control and see what that reports.
The directions are in the FSM, section HA, page 30.
If you don't have the FSM, click this link - http://boredmder.com/FSMs/Infiniti/I30/1999/HA.pdf
Two comments.
One of the steps (3 I think) takes a while, so don't get nervous and think the diagnostic hung up.
If you run the diagnostic at night or in a dimly lit garage, the test will fail with error code 25, Sunlight Sensor.
