Maximas for Sale / WantedHave a Maxima that you want to sell? Looking for a Maxima? Let the world know about it. Be sure to include your location in the description!
VIN:JN1CA21D4ST005116 March 1994 Build date (Very early Gen 4 production).
Black Emerald Pearl exterior Paint Code DJ2 (One year only paint for 4th Gen Maxima) (Very Dark Green)
Interior is beige/blonde cloth.
Manual A/C blows Cold (always has—never had to charge it)
ABS, OBDII Compliant (has OBD I and OBD II Ports)
All stock except for Stillen side skirts, which can be easily removed and sold by the next owner. There is still a market for these side skirts. No rips or stains on the interior. Interior is clean and near spotless. (The video has shadows that make it appear dirty—it’s not). The exterior is all original with some very small dings here and there. The car looks great.
There is no rust. The radiator support is original and is rust free. Same for the rocker panels. The car is incredibly rust free—-impossible to find in the upper Midwest. No accidents. All the body panels are original—with the original Nissan stickers showing same.
The tires are old, but not dry rotted. There is some rust on the original muffler, but it’s not loud at all. Still sounds original – – quiet.
Has stock radio, which is the non-Bose type. It still sounds good (for a non-Bose unit) as we replaced all the speakers.
We are located in Saint Charles Illinois, which is 35 miles west of Chicago.
We are asking $6000 for it and we’re pretty firm on that. I can take more or specific pictures if you’re interested.

Since this is early 95 are emission required? For those that don’t know IL long ago dropped emissions for OBD I, not sure if it’s 94 or 95 when they become exempt.

I believe 95’ production made OBD2 mandatory but these were built in 94’, Nissan voluntarily complied early though. These early 95’ ECUs (ie; A18-B41-EL0 or A18-B41-EM0 which are early 95’ fed spec 5spd, likely what this max has) are in a goldilocks zone of not having emissions monitors (other than secondary o2 iirc) but also being OBD2 compliant. So you can plug in and pass inspection as long as you had an o2 spacer or sim to make the ECU happy.

oh I know how to pass emissions, I,ve built my own 02 simulators for catless systems, etc. The question is if IL considers it a obd 1, even if it’s obd2 there are zero emissions to be taken so EGRs, cats, evap systems etc don’t even need to be on the car (like my turbo 91). I just don’t know what this car is considered but since the OP has owned it, has he had to take emissions in the past 15 years (maybe longer ago that they changed the law I don’t recall the exact date)? Perhaps the new owner can chime in a let us know what it takes to get his new plates (typically the time for emissions)
