Maxus 2009 Official Thread
I'm from Chicago and might be making the trek out there this June even though I no longer own my Maxima anymore. Maybe the guys from Chicago and anyone along the way out there we can get a caravan going to DC/Maryland. I want this to be bigger than Chicago and especially Dallas as well.
also from chicago and im thinkin of going and wantin to drive my maxima and i was planning of getting 4 more ppl so gas, hotel wont be as expensive and no need to rent a caravan
We have the entire Maryland International Raceway rented out to ourselves!

I have a suggestion. How about making up mods list sheet that can be filled out and printed so some of the newbies wont have to wonder what you did to your car if you are not standing there. There were people asking whats this whats that where did you get it etc... I know some people have invested some $$$ so all your mods are not possible to put on a sheet. Just the basics and if you want to go into detail you can. The sheets can be put on the window with the persons screen name and maybe the state they are from. I met a lot of people at the last maxima meet (that live close to me) but in person (not screen name) i had no idea who they are.

Last, as for mod list, I recommend you make one up for your car and bring it with you. Many members, especially car show entrants were asked to display the list of mods in their open engine bays or windshield so people could read as they walked around.
This picture was at the NWP Engineering Gaithersburg, MD (Sept 2008)meet, note on the upper left hand side on my engine cover is a paper with a listing of my mods in a plastic protective cover!!!

We are in the middle of compiling the complete set of rules for the Car Show. One of the requirements will most likely be that you have a list of your modifications on a piece of paper in your engine bay like Chernmax has.
The Car Show will be held at Maryland International Raceway the same day the Drag Showdown is happening.

I'll probably come out of the witness protection program and show up to grace all of you with my presence....
Probably in for autocross, drag strip, depending on format the road course, and dyno if you guys allow a giant p3n0r with an ///M badge on the back and a roundel on the front...

I know that its supposed to a maxima event, but i have 2 friends that i tend to do my summer car show trips with and they both drive non nissan vehicles. It would suck to have them come down and not be able to use their cars in the drag or any other events.
also its been 6yrs since ive been on this forum and im no longer in the same financially as i was back in college...i'm looking to buy a new car myself and if i do, i would like to bring that vehicle down to "show off"...and i would like to trash you suckas at the racing events...
it might be nice to open it up to other vehicles as well. just sayin'

it isnt opening it up to everyone, just people on this forum...that no longer drive a maxima or want to drive their maximas there but still are part of this forum. their friends/family could be excluded, but i fail to see why to have org members go but have to take part at an arms length

As of right now, we are only openly promoting this event to the Maxima world and on Maxima forums. If you are a Maxima enthusiast, then yes, you are invited to attend. But as of right now, there are no guarantees other cars will be able to participate in our Maxima Drag Showdown. A lot of work has gone into renting out Maryland International Raceway and depending on how many Maxima entries we get in advance, we will know if we will have enough room for other car groups to join us.
Please keep in mind that there is still a LOT of planning to do with all these events. And we may decide to eventually open up certain events to other cars. But for right now, we are focused on inviting Maximas to enter the actual events. But, anybody who loves Maximas can come on out.
We are also trying to add more events during the weekend. As soon as those are set in stone, details will be posted in this thread and on the website.
Please continue to keep in touch and keep checking www.maxus09.com for updates.
Thanks.
