I was on the way back from looking at a potential project car that was for sale a few minutes away from my house. As I was going through the intersection at about 45 mph, a 1991 Oldsmobile runs the red light and clips my front wheel and bumper. My car was still in contact with his car, and at that time, I come in contact with his rear wheel/fender area (tire/wheel mark on the center of the front bumper).
I do a 180 degree spin and end up jumping the curb, rear-end first (where the right turning lane is). He does a 180 degree in the (north) direction he was traveling. He sits there for a split second, does a U-turn and flees the scene.
There were 6 witnesses to the accident. Keep in mind that this was at 1220am on a weeknight (lucky)! One citizen shortly follows and locates the fleeing vehicle (missing a taillight, hubcap, that was rolling on a rim, sending sparks everywhere), abandoned in a residential neighborhood. About 4 to 5 police officers arrived several minutes after the accident occurred.
I was able to positively identify the car. They did a search (the doors were unlocked with the windows down) and impounded the vehicle.
So now, it's just a waiting game. Enjoy the pictures.

10 to 1 odds on that car that hit you was stolen - which is why the found it abandoned...
IF you have non-insured accident coverage - put your claim in as soon as possible.
Just on a side thought, find out (local Police) if they were actively looking for that car that hit you... does seem (from your description) that a lot of cops showed up rather 'quickly' ... if they were actively looking for that car then you may have a case against the police (under a 'non-pursuit accident' clause)

wow I'm sorry to see that, it was a beauty of a car. Hopefully they catch the bastard. Keep us updated!
Glad you're okay man. Sad to see the car go. It was absolutely gorgeous, and I hate lowlifes like this who ruin your hard work.

Yeah, I have full coverage. I am doing okay. Most of the car is parted out now. Originally Posted by 2000_MAXIMA_KING

This is the car that hit me and fled. Notice the missing passenger-side taillight:

That's ridiculous man...I loved your car. You had one of my favorite GS400s due to the fact that it wasn't over-played and overdone like some of them.
What are you going to look to get now? I take it that the insurance company will total it

I just bought a CLS550 today. Great news: the OCPD"s hit and run division has found the owner of the 1991 Oldsmobile. It is insured with liability! I am waiting to hear back from them.Originally Posted by 321VQ35MAX
