Post up agressive and flush 4TH gens now! give the 5th gns some comp!
.....if you havent realized 4th gens have smaller fenders than 5th gens, they cant run wheels as wide with those offsets. Take a look at the thread title.

hellz naw........ 4th gen FTW. 5th's aint got nothin on them. besides, your purple rims alone takes 50% of the 5th gen credibility in this thread away !
To those that care about what quality wheels have to offer, name brand wheels are worth every penny. Name brand wheels are just that for a reason, and without them, knock offs wouldnt exist even exist to begin with. Almost the entire Rota and XXR line up is knock off of name brand wheels.

Second thing I can see your point, and for every knockoff wheel horror story you hear, you could find some quality related disaster with "name brand" wheels. The only thoughts I have on the matter is, I'd rather rock some used Works/BBS/etc than some brand new XXRs/Rotas - they do have some nice looking wheels, but the 240 owners in my area already are rocking every decent looking set, making them played out.
Its not about horror stories at all. Name brand wheels are the ones that offer the higher overall quality, lower weight, better finish, better construction. usually they are the ones with wider width's more available offsets, exotic colors and design appeal.
Also true, I def agree with the weight and fitment options.
these are my daily wheels, whenever i get my aftermarket wheels, then we'll converse
i never said it was difficult to get your specs right, IJS, that 5.5 gen is some real tough shiet. as much as i love 4th gens over 5/5.5 gens. i've got to say, there arent as many 'awesome' looking 4th gens as there are 5/5.5...when i made that statement about that one that was posted...IJS...****ted on em

quality this quality that.... what the **** ever!! i agree to some extent on the value of "quality wheels"... thanks to rota i wont waste my money on whoever the "real" wheel is, same goes for varrstoen, thanks to them ill never buy the actual volk te37's ever in life, same goes for xxr... i dont care for the name i care for the look, **** name... i do like name brand wheels believe me i do but credit where its do, those look just as good
Varrstoen took one of the hottest wheels in the market (TE37) and made an EXACT replica of it with various colors with multiple specs perfect for the EVO/WRX/Z/E46 crowd and fed it right to them. They started out with just that single design and now they even offer an exact replica of volk CE28N and BBS LM. heck so many people started slapping on VOLK RACING/Rays Engineering stickers on their knock off volks to a point where Rays doesnt even sell you their stickers anymore unless you provide receipt that you have purchased REAL Rays Wheels. You really think if the real stuff was over rated, so many other knock off companies would be around copying their design like flies on fresh poop?
don't be close minded. Same deal with Stillen, they invest in engineering and designing quality products and then some no name brand comes copies their design and offers it for 1/10th of the price and everyone on the org cries about stillen prices..

i agree with GH though. unless i find a dumb good deal on the real deal, i'm not going to stress it. i give them their props on what they did to design/construct the wheel and all..but i cant see spending big bucks on something that will depreciate so quickly, despite the bogus prices people put on a used set of real wheels. most of us are using them as daily wheels and nothing else. the wheels will get chipped just like the real ones will etc. so no reason to ride on 'baller *** wheels' when they are going to get messed up anyway. i will drool over a nice set of wheels though.
if i was heavy into road course/auto-x, i'd have to invest in a set of those...more or less a safety thing for me. other wise...knock offs all day
LOL @ james, that cracked me up.
phatboi, again you cant speak for everyone based on YOUR budget. there are plenty of people who can afford them and wouldn't hesitate to spend the money. no need to go elsewhere for proof, just look at our very own Wizard. His HKS stroker kit on his poopra is worth more than our 5th gen's combined and that car doesnt even see day light on a sunny day
Jame's when am I due for a ride in that beast? you showed me what 300whp was like, now i wanna feeel 800whp

I personally would not support companies that make knock-offs products. Recently a customer came into my shop to have some brand new rotas mounted on a set of tires. After I mounted the tires, i noticed a hairline crack in the actual wheel. And this was from just mounting. Imagine what would happen if that wheel explodes while you are driving.
It is not about just the looks of a wheel but its strength and weight, etc. Take a look at this video

Companies that make knock-offs products are the one that hurt the tuning industry. Like I said i personally will never support a company that took somebody else's idea, made a copy, and then sells it to make profit. And those knock-off companies will never make a product identical to the real version.

you REALLY think that they are hurting the 'tuning industry'?! they are helping boost it, even if they are 'stealing' designs and making them cheaper. its just like the difference between getting Coburg and Store brand....its competition..
