*aside from shaving down the ring around the studs, you can see that the studs themselves are longer. Well, re-using the original, capped flange nuts isn't possible. So I went to my local Ace Hardware and got 4 (2 for each side) flange nuts, M4 I believe and all is well.
Congrats on the little girl Bro!! Yeah, don't get used to sleep for a while. My boy had to sleep in his swing for the first 6 months of life because he absolutely would not sleep in his grib. Gotta improvise i guess.

Cattman Y pipe installed too....holy fcukballs that's a pretty sound! Makes the VQ even throatier! turns vroom vroom into VROOM VROOM! I'm very impressed Not too much loder than what I had before (stock exhaust with Dynomax muffler), will get a sound clip up sometime.

Happy for you man.
I wish I would have held off for cattman quality instead of the warpspeed.

For a single-sided exhaust, dual-tips are the way to go. But those huge, single exhaust tips... those only look good if there's one on each side. (Or on a truck, for that matter.) If it's all by itself, then rice.

The 2013 Civic SI has a single, oversized exhaust tip. It looks ridiculous, and yet that's directly from Honda, by design. You can't help but wonder if the tail is wagging the dog here.

to be more accurate though...dual tips are the "way to go" if and only if the cutout for the tip would support it. The 4th gen bumper cutout is like half an egg...a dual-tip would look freaking horrible there.

got me a new toy coming...I bought a bluetooth OBD2 plugin and downloaded a OBD2 code app from the Android Market...so I will be able to read and clear codes from my smartphone...just planning on leaving it plugged in all the time, seeing what I can see

And yeah, the P0138 code came back...it's not immediately failing but still.

Do I need to actually reset the ECU or just clear the code? (edit, I love a good .org search. got my question answered...clearing the code does reset the ECU)

I had one and returned it.
Very inaccurate for everything, but codes.
I'll stick with my cheap code reader instead.
I think the app I had was called torque iirc.
It was cool to clear my codes from my phone though..

I hope you have better luck with yours.

This is an old "pilot" muffler I had laying around the house that I installed this weekend. I still have to tweak the hanger because it's pretty weak and will end up bending over time I think which will cause the muffler to hang lower than I want.

BUMP

What should I name this thing?

My old Grand Am was named "Clarice"...I don't want any variation of "max" in the name...it's overplayed. My coworkers have named it "Rick", but I don't like that name so I want the community's ideas.

My cars are always a SHE...so no boy names please.

For people who don't have a hobby interest in cars, naming their car is all in fun. It's an inside joke, and harmless. But for people who have an obsessive interest in their car, giving it a name is another brick in the crazy wall.

Step back a few feet. It's just a car.

pfft

Naming a car is an American Institution...if it wasn't, then all Navy ships wouldn't have names. It's Anti-American NOT to name one's vehicle. In fact, there are conventions for doing so.

Damn Commies

that would be quite apt...but I'm not sure.

Akari also means bright light, while Akiko is more like "bright child"... but it depends on which websites one goes to

25% tint, so it will register around 20 with the meter. Not blacked out, and i'm not riced out with fart can and mad camber so I should be fine. legal tint in WA is 24%

Nice progress on the car so far...I was wondering, what Dynoamx muffler do you have? I ran the VT for a few months a year or two ago but the rattle at idle just drove me nuts and without serious power under the hood, it was embarrassing lol.

I've been running the regular variable capacity Max muffler again and love it, though the G35 has a larger 2.25" inlet vs the Maxima's 2" inlet fwiw...

Thanks man

I've got the Dynomax Super Turbo 17748. If you search Youtube for "Amerikaner1983" you'll find two vids i did...one completely stock and one with the muffler. There is only a slight difference noticable at idle...nothing ricey or loud. I notice no rattling whatsoever.

I need to do another exhaust vid with my Cattman Y as well... louder, but not too much at all...except when I get on it on the highway but a lot nicer and throatier than stock.

I'll always regret not getting a 4th gen SE...for a couple of years I watched them on Autotrader always waiting for low mileage models to keep dropping in price but I was just too cheap...I think that model was one of the best balances of looks, size and power. Not a full size but could still seat 5 if you had to with a decent interior and those cool white sport gauges too...

Agreed. When I was actually starting to shop for my max, I did NOT want the white gauges, since that wasn't what I was used to. However, the minute I drove at night and saw how the SE gauges looked when lit...

Looks good.
Keep up the good work!

Do you know if some SEs come with sawblades?
