lol you bought your bimmer around the same time i got mine, they are all nice and lovely until you have to repair something, you already ran into the dreaded turbo repair. and because its a direct injection motor you have to actually physically go in and clean teh valves since there is no gas to wash them like before. You know if seafoaming those motors is an option or are they too sensitive?

Thankfully nothing has gone wrong on mine yet but i know the looming valve seals are coming(E60 545i), im going to do them before it becomes an issue where im forced to do them when i dont want too.

Next up:

- Cyba intake scoops (mate to stock snorkel to feed air thru grilles)

- Osram Xenarc 66144 CBI D1S bulbs. I've read into these things, and they come stock on the new F10 5 series and S63 AMGs. OEM grade 5000K bulbs, with lumen output of a 4300K bulb. Geeking out about these things.
I gotta start taking pics like that before also. Way overkill but you never know.

I used Seafoam once on the Maxima, and wasn't a fan of it. I guess the new carbon cleanings are part of the Direct Injection tune-ups.

I'm paranoid. She has no dings and barely any scratches aside from the bumpers which came like that. My friends will still hate me for parking in the back of the lot but oh well.

The bulbs are being shipped. Waiting game now...

It should help still. Not as precisely routed as with the stock air box, but will help flow directed past the radiator. They cut slits to allow water to pass through. If they prove pointless, they can be easily removed.

BTW, I like your new sig photo. No, wait... that's two pics, and misaligned. Here, use this.

Hey Zero, look what just showed up at my doorstep:

Thank you sir. Sig saved and swapped out. I do want to throw the rolling shot of the 335 next to the Max at some point... might wait for a new pic.

Digging the HFCs. When do they go on, and where are the videos/sound clips?

Glad to help. Anytime, Zero.

Those are RHFCs (resonated). They're going on the car in the beginning of March, so about 4 weeks, give or take. My NYS Inspection is due in April, so the plan is to go a month early. On one hand, having an Inspection come due in March gives me the future flexibility to use whichever tires are more likely to pass... snows or summers. And since I'm going to install the cats *after* the Inspection, that gives me a full year to find a local shop that doesn't care about the aftermarket cats, or simply wouldn't recognize them as such.

New York passed a California Emmisions law last year that makes it illegal to use anything other than OEM cats. Period. So I've got that bit of loveliness to deal with.

What about your right hand mechanic that worked on the max?? He did all your cat gutting stuff?

And again post pics of your wheels somewhere on the org once they are installed.

Hey it's healthier that way more walking, and you save the gas because you keep your car towards the entrance of the lots

Yep, that guy. He's still my mechanic. Highly skilled wiseazz. I respect the hell out of him.

And absolutely I'll post pics, as long as Zero doesn't mind. This is not my thread, but I like hanging out with you guys... virtually speaking, of course. You're probably all unwashed goons and nerds, and I'm just an old man.

Please. This isn't serious business. Post pics of the G anytime.

When you say "old man", does the unwashed portion automatically apply?

Osram CBI bulbs came in today! Also, my tow hook GoPro mount. That should be fun. Unfortunately, the bulbs will have to wait till I can get some time and better weather. They require the fender liner to come out for install. Not as easy as the 5.5 was... Damn.

That's not so much a factor of age as it is my working from home.

Bunch of god damn punks with your german cars and your GoPro cameras! (Actually, a little jealous of that last one.)

Yeah, Rochester. Keep us updated on the G.

As for the tow hook mount, I can't wait for that. Mainly cause it'll be on Z's car, which means I'll be in front being filmed, and we'll finally have a video that everyone will love and want to watch.

Unless it's Z and I racing.

Waiting for this weather to go away. Videos and new HIDs on deck.

Also, full LED interior conversion should arrive tomorrow. Went with the OEM brightness level. Don't need to blind passengers, unless it's Samuel1021.

I don't know whether I want to put them on the car, or leave them on the dining room table. Looks rather nice there as a center piece.

Hey Zero, look what just showed up at my doorstep:

Do they put cars on rollers in NY to measure the exhuast bs? If not, you should have just gotten full on test pipes. Dont bother wasting your money on HFC.

Rochester, wheels look beautiful.

No engine bay shots yet.

Samuel1021 and I installed a few things this weekend:

Closeup.

I'll have pictures of the Osram CBI's soon. They are installed, but the right headlight needs to be adjusted a bit.

Nice looking mod, Zero. I like the new lenses, although I think I like the large back-up strip better than the little one. Either way, I suspect that they are beautiful when lit.

Good mod.

Thanks. Still in the basement, because Winter won't end.

However, this morning I did get the RHFC's installed. There's quite a noticeable butt-dyno gain in throttle response in the low end, and certainly a noticeable gain at WOT... it just pulls harder and longer, is all.

Sadly there's almost zero change in exhaust tone, because they're resonated. That bit of fun is going to have to wait until the day I replace the cat-back.

Thanks. Video of the G please? Rochester's. Not your slobber ride, Samuel1021. The cats may "settle", if that's the term.

I just dropped off the spoiler at the body shop yesterday. We'll see how it comes out!

There you go. How far away from Wilkes-Barre is your family? Because Boston to the meet-up is about a 5-hour drive, according to Google.

Had the car coded (changing factory options via laptop/software) for the new taillights finally, and threw in the digital speedo like the M cars have.

Torgus joined the 3 series dark side as well, and threw me in front of the bus to host a local meet. Had about 20 cars show up, and perfect weather.

I love the folding mirrors. The person who set me up with the coding, changed the settings so my mirrors fold if I hold the lock button.

Very useful said no one.

And wasn't there an Ivory Pearl G35S at that meet too? Wish someone grabbed pics of that. Sigh.
