Updated earlier poast.

Unrelated I tested my $30 Lowe's trans fluid filler and it worked. Less mess and stress. Just set and forget!

But wait there's more!

Ok there isn't but I was on a roll.

Forgot to drop some pictures here.

Torqued everything down up to the cams

Decided to do something else on the timing cover, Button Head bolts, I didn't wanna spend $200 on bolts but $36 will do and it looks different but not gaudy/attention grabbing.

More updates after I RTV things down tomorrow.

Here's a quick video I took with just the things thrown on the motor.

After some struggles with parts. I can finally say i am ready to drop in the new powertrain.

I have decided to go with the 02 spec-v transmission gearset as is.

The super short first gear will help the heavier chassis get moving and longer 3rd gear will have me trap in the 1/4 in 3rd instead of 4th.

Anywho enjoy a picture dump.

-Concept Z's stage 3 racing clutch mated to a z1 motosports mid-weight flywheel.

-02 Spec-V internals transferred into a v6 donor transmission.

-the powertrain assembled, ready to be transplanted.

Looks clean! What's your redline going to be? From my notes I have that a 2002 Sentra with a 7000 redline only goes to 94.7 in 3rd. Are you going to try out those Vision1Racing shift and detent springs?

After I test them out I'll text you.

Update? Sure.

Photos of the mayhem.

Cleaned the engine bay up some....

Then i had to partially drop the crossmember to get my Altima SE-R front sway bar in...

Comparison photos of the SE-R sway bar vs the factory 08 Maxima SE.

Not too many options when it comes to bushings here.... going to have to order some plane old autozone bushings.

And the first of many new/rebuilt parts going in the car....
Got the original alternator rebuilt, came with this cool little sheet.

Coulda swore these things were 130a.... but meh....

Ennyhuu.

Flex fuel sensor kit ordered, aem fuel pump on the way, gtr injectors are already here..... getting a new passenger side axle (carrier bearing is shot, how bow dah), new boot on the driver side.... Uhhh i think thats it... I'm really trying to have this thing running this weekend.

Mini update, I am finally at a point now to make some real progress.... aka putting the powertrain in...

-Axles ready to go in

- Front sway bar bushings finally came in... fun fact moog has discontinued the se-r bushings, and your options are very slim..... no fear! These are Thermoplastic (very stiff non rubber) bushings, i have no idea how they will like heat but i guess we will find out... Nissan has superceded the part #s to all be the same for altimas now. So going to the dealer isnt an option either.

Ennywho i have some more cleaning to do tonight but i am almost ready to drop the powerplant in!

Soooo here we are at first start eve.

Just some random photos taken along the way.

-here is my 2nd attempt at wrapping headers and YES it is trash. Nothing to be proud of, just uploading this photo so one day i can look at it and be like damn that was trash.

-last photo i have beforeeee.......

-Huzzah motor is in! I have a bunch of small things to take care of that i forgot but we are getting there!

Extra credit.
soooo this car made a howling/wookie/electric train braking noise when the clutch was being slipped.

The powers that be had this installed....

I really think the flywheel has waaaayyy too much play in it and its done for and when it was at its limit of slip engagement... it was making a howling noise because of the extra distance it was moving? Maybe? Idc, all i can say is don't ever do this on a stock dual mass flywheel.

I almost installed a seized ac compressor on the car, here are some pics inside.

And that is all.

So radical update needs to be given, I'm probably just gonna blog it on youtubes.

But where are we at now?

'18 Maxima motor going into my 2008 w/ a 4.1 HLSD
Z1 Midweight flywheel w/ McCleod Heavy Duty Street clutch
Same headers and exhaust as aforementioned in this thread.
Still the same full standalone haltech but w/ flex fuel support. I will wire in the exhaust cam phasers cause,.,,. well I can...

More updates later on, i'm busy trying to save the disaster from the cammed motor and putting it in my 03 now....

Sweet, that should make plenty of power. So when are we gonna get to see a set of your fancy headers in action?

Sold my 3rd gen motor, made a personal decision to stay away from 2nd/3rd gen swaps for all my personal cars.

Attempted to install a cammed 1st gen, found out I had a defective cam from JWT, car has been sitting for the last few years up until....... I wrecked my Altima SE-R a week ago.

Everything from it is going into this car soooo.... This is what's getting xferred into this car...

-1st Generation VQ35DE
-350z ECU (still stock tune)
-11:1 high compression forged pistons
-Forged Rods
-JWT C8 Cams
-Audi Coilpack Conversion
-Redlion Motor Mounts
-2j Racing LW UDP
-02 Spec-V 6mt transmission (4.4 final drive with a short 1st gear and Helical Limited Slip Differential)
-McLeod stage 3 350z Clutch Kit
-2j Racing Short Shifter
-Fortune Auto 350z Rear Coilovers w/ 10k Springs
-Z1 Motor Sports rear toe & camber arms
-Some Aftermarket Rear Sway Bar, forgot what brand (Not ultra racing)
-350z Brake Master Cylinder
-Corbeau RRB Seats
-2j racing short shifter
-Custom Intake Manifold w/ EGR & Vias Delete
-2nd Generation VQ35DE Throttle Body
-NWP spacers
-Sleeper Garage Intake

I am also going to immediately replace the Front Coils w/ BC racing DS Front Coilovers w/ 12k Springs, the Fortune Auto Rear coils were definitely overworking the front Ksports that were on my Altima, that's my sneaking suspicion for the floatyness in highspeed maneuvering I had anyways.
