My other projects in the 15 years since I sold the 5th Gen...

been a while since I sold the old Maxima and been around here...

Anyways, in case any of some of you OG types want to see what I've been up to since, in terms of vehicles....

after the maxima, built up a 2009 WRX ....full suspension works, around 280awhp, put 180k miles on it

After that, for my DD I moved on to a 2018 GTI, which is mostly stock except wheels and a few little things, so not even worth showing a photo of.

My current tow/utility/adventure rig (I also have a trailer)

I've been mostly into doing 80s cars in the past decade

'88 Porsche 924S, which I got for $1000 and did a pretty extensive restore/rebuilt (it was wrecked and had a blown engine)

'89 Dodge Raider (Mitsubishi Montero). 2-door, V6, 5MT. It was a $500 rusted-out basket case with no engine, did a full rebuilt during COVID and also built a matching trailer out of a Mighty Max bed. It does a good share of off-roading as well

'95 BMW 318i, with an M50 swap, full custom rally suspension, and basically nothing at all stock except the body. We have some fun in it and have done a dozen stage rallies and about 50 rallycrosses. Once again, bought for $1000 as a non-runner and spent a decade building it to what it is now.

I've done a few others, but these are my favorites so far.

Anyhow, hope all you OGs are doing well

Looking good. I'm guessing that's an '85 318, and not a '95?

I still have my maxima - going on 18 years now. 260k miles and I need to replace the timing chain tensioner, but otherwise it drives/looks like new and I just drove it to and from Colorado twice in one month. I've had a 2010 GTI 6 speed, 2013 Accord coupe v6 6 speed, 2015 335i 6 speed, 2018 titan (still own), 2015 boxster S 6 speed, and a 2006 X5 4.8is (still own). The X5 has been undergoing a pretty massive restoration and I'm on the tail end of it now.

nice update Josh! good sheet! glad you are keeping busy and still modifying and creating ! i just read a thread the other day where you posted and your knowledge and information helped.
i am at a cross roads where to go with my next vehicle for sure. i still daily drive my 2002 and I am at 287k miles. owned it 15 years. drives awesome still. and have yet to get another vehicle.... i wish i didn't have to even think about it, but rust is on at least 3 major body panels and it needs attention.

glad all is well though and your pandemic project with the Raider is bad ace ! good stuff.
