TPS or IACV? (Help needed)

TPS or IACV? Hi peoples. Noob here with some basic mechanical experience of my 2001 Maxima (JN VIN Prefix). Car has 205,000 as at 09/26/20.
Symptom: At 40mph on level ground, even a slight easing of the accelerator pedal would result in rev counter plummeting 800rpm and 'bounce' before settling. When squeezing the accelerator pedal to speed up, rev counter would shoot up approx 600rpm before engine started to pull again. Performance would be almost flat initially. NOTE: No unexpected gear changes.
So, read the forums here and figured bad TPS. Changed TPS with manual relearn from this forum. Fine for a day, then, suddenly started acting up. With accelerator pressed steady at 1500rpm, car would repeatedly flip up and down to 1800rpm. If pushed a little harder, engine would race to near 3000rpm.
Tried relearn a few times, including battery disconnect. Same symptoms.
Refitted OLD TPS and completed relearn. Same symptoms as with NEW TPS. i.e. It did not revert to old symptoms, even after three relearns.
NOTE: No Engine check light at any time. Also appears to ONLY occur when engine is at normal running temperature. IDLE remains stable at 700 +/- (Hence why I'm not convinced it's an IACV fault.)
Help appreciated. Thank you
