I got a 1997 maxima se, I had the Ref sensor go out back in February. I replaced it and it ran fine. But when it goes out I basically can’t rev past 3000 before it just shuts off completely. The starter doesn’t work now after trying to crank it to start while troubleshooting. I have a 99 maxima I took the sensor off that one and replaced it with the one on the 97 they both work om the 99. I’ve check for continuity it all looks the same on both cars the wires before the connector as slightly broken exposing a bit of wire but I don’t think it shouldn’t be working. I have a MAF and a Camshaft code and also all 3 of my oxygen sensors pop up although those were always there. The MAF of Camshaft seem to come up just because of the crankshaft issue which happened last time. I didn’t think just replacing the sensors for crankshaft was gonna fix it. I replaced both of them and went back to running fine. I drove the car to work fine an hour out of town. When I went to go start the car after work this same problem came back. Won’t rev past 3000 I ended up getting it home which took 3 hrs it would still drive as long as I shifted in between 1500-2500 and didn’t try and accelerate quickly otherwise i’d stall. I’ve redone all the things that fixed it the first time around and more. I’ve been putting hours in to try and get this sorted and now I gotta go in and replace a starter before I can even try again so any help between now and then would be appreciated.
