Engine Shaking and Miss Firing?

Hoping to get some info from all you knowledged guys out there on this one. As this forum is my last hope.

Anyway I got a auto SE 1992.

Engine seems to be miss firing or something, cause you can feel it periodical shaking on the steering wheel? like every 1/2 second. Also around 1500 to 1900 rpm, if you hold it there you can really feel the engine shake widly, but once over 2000rpm it disappears?

Now is this a timing problem? I am thinking it might be the leads or the distrubitor which isnt doing its job right, therefore causing miss firing for one of the cylinders.

I changed injectors few months ago and also changed the timing belt (altough it was home job).

When I first bought the car, it was running on 5 cylinders and the timing was right off, drove it like that for a while, maybe the whole drive line is stuffed as result.

I just cant get the car to run the way I want it to . Really thinking of selling it and making a very large loan to get my R32 GTR..hahahha

Re: Engine Shaking and Miss Firing?

Try unplugging each injector to see if a cylinder isn't firing 100%. Now if you find out all cylinders are operating the same, then you pull the codes from the ECU if there are any. If you haven't now go buy a haynes manual at least or get a nissan FSM.

I actually got the origianl two volume nissan manual.

After I bought the car , and like I said it was running on 5 cylinders, although, it was well hidden as somone advance the timing so much you could hardly tell. Anyway it was a nightmare to ge the car running on 6 again, changed one bad injector and then another one failed so then changed all the rest.

I also at that time did a diognostic check following the manual and the codes tells me everything is fine. Although maybe I should do one again.
