My solution to pillar pods..

Hi all,

I managed to grab a few shots of the car today; you'll have to excuse the crappy quality (and yeah, my intake pipe needs some cleaning :P), but check out the below pics... nice and clean, no drilling/ruined pillar, and it was coincidentally pretty cost efficient too : only $12 x 3!

The a/f gauge needs a bit of an adjustment; it's tilted a bit too far to the left, I just haven't had the time to yank it off and redo it yet.

Not bad. Not as clean as some would like, but it works. I'm still waiting for the pillar pod group deal someone was setting up. Couldn't wait that long?

hehehe, nope I hated running the car blind!

Kev : so what's happening with that conversion? The automagic world will miss you!! =]

I was thinking of doing one, but thought it might end up being too much work/expense, and more trouble than it was worth

Need to pick up some parts from DAVEB and the LSD drive axle... then the swap should be a go.

I'm not debating with myself on whether to do the pedals and wiring one weekend then the tranny swap and linkage another weekend..... or the whole thing during one weekend.

I will be an automagic driver at heart.

hmm.. what's this costing you roughly?

When I leverage the price against all the Level 10 /VB/Protorque parts and labour, maybe I should go for a stick as well....

... tell me you're putting in the 2K2 Helical LSD/6-speed in and you will make my day

I think its a 2001 AE LSD tranny.... Try finding an LSD 6 speed... it aint gonna happen for a while, I've been looking. You could get new one for 3 grand i imagine...

Some cheap black wire loom would clean those loose gauge wires up nicely. Looks great!

97 GLE is correct about the tranny. I don't want the current 6 speed tranny.

Cost? All new parts.
